It makes sense considering the Enlightenment Era followed the Renaissance Era.

I dont like Enlightenment AT ALL. It just feeds into Bey taking herself too seriously.

I like Rodeo cause it is simple yet says a lot about the album already, Im fine with a nod to Texas too.

No shade but Enlightenment is absolutely terrible. So stupid and corny. It better not be the title :rip:

I'm personally team Rodeo (even if its a bit literal) with Reneigh making a comeback and debuting a new look as well

RODEO is far too camp to be a title for anything other than an album track, and doesn't push the narrative she set up after having Renaissance come before it.

Literally. People say Rodeo is on the nose but how on the nose is following your album Renaissance with one called Enlightenment? :rip: It's so self serious too.

Girl both singles don’t have potential to be a commercial single. I think these are both promo songs

Kindly feck off if you’re here to spread negativity. Go camp out in the Azealia thread or something

Exactly. She already gets an endless amount of "she takes herself too seriously" critiques, and that title would only make it worse and fair in this case.

It could be seen as an enlightenment of country being in the hands of those that started it? :michael:

Kind've how renaissance did the same for bringing Black creators into the forefront of electronic and dance music.

I agree. No shade to the Enlightenment lovers, but it just sounds...corny af.

All our faves go the literal or corny route at some point (hell, Bey has, because what is a 'B'Day' when we really think about it). But her whole brand nowadays feels more premium, refined, and elevated.

So, yes, while "Enlightenment" is the next phase in the whole Renaissance concept, she can simply weave that into the IG description of the project. Titling it as such really isn't a must.

I'm still team Rodeo for the title. It's slightly literal but feels more playful, more inviting, more effortlessly cool than anything that sounds too self-indulgent or grandiose for grandiose sake.

Also just from a branding perspective:

"How do you like Beyonces Rodeo album?" literally makes it clear we are talking about a Country album whereas with Enlightment, nobody would have a clue what it's about and might already be turned off by the title alone

Mile high when I rodeo then I come down and take off again

Ride it like a rodeo when i'm on top

Quote

I grew up going to the Houston rodeo every year. It was this amazing diverse and multicultural experience where there was something for every member of the family, including great performances, Houston-style fried Snickers, and fried turkey legs. One of my inspirations came from the overlooked history of the American Black cowboy. Many of them were originally called cowhands, who experienced great discrimination and were often forced to work with the worst, most temperamental horses. They took their talents and formed the Soul Circuit. Through time, these Black rodeos showcased incredible performers and helped us reclaim our place in western history and culture.

i'm sorry but the prophecy will be fulfilled :jonny2:

I remember that Harper's Baazar quote. The way it reads like an easily adaptable IG quote to explain the concept of this album.

Rodeo for the win!

I already mentioned it in the Beyoncé base, but it just hit me that this is going to be her most introspective album since Lemonade since Country is all about storytelling.

You can tell this already thanks to 16 Carriages..

Another masterpiece incoming. :jonny6:

I don't think it is going to be Rodeo or Enlightenment. My guess is if Renaissance was about reinvigoration and finding this new version of herself, this album will be about reclaiming her story, and the country genre.

I am excited, I think the title and cover are going to be very surprising but still feel cohesive to the 3 part project.

I hope the cover is just like Renaissance, and another horse, but this time decked out in country versus dance/disco ball

What does a Rodeo have to do with the Renaissance period? :doc: ReFormation is what came after …

Renaissance: going BACKWARDS

Rodeo: going IN CIRCLES
