nostalgia Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Uber has announced that it will be changing its controversial Super Bowl commercial starring “Horrible Bosses” thespian Jennifer Aniston before it airs during the game after backlash over its portrayal of food allergies. The Food Allergy Research and Education nonprofit — which released a statement criticizing the ad earlier in the week — shared a follow-up statement from its CEO on Feb. 9, which explained that Uber had reached out to the organization and will edit out the depiction of peanut allergies in the final version of the ad. 3

Phaunzie Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) I will be honest, there was nothing harmful about that ad. Like the Are there peanuts in peanut butter? joke is so harmless that I believe they shouldn't have to change it. Edited February 11 by Phaunzie 7

U somehow made this about Jenn when she's not even the one in that joke. That is lame trolling 3
Gaia Posted February 11 Posted February 11 How is it harmful? It’s informative and teaching that peanut butter has peanuts in it
Specter Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I mean I'm kind of crying that there are organizations dedicated to tracking representations of food allergy in media No disrespect to my lactose intolerant or peanut avoidant sistren, but 1
family.guy123 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Pathetic. The Emmy winning actress who performed LIVE every single week for ten years is unbothered af. She has more award worthy screen time than any of her peers. Try to name somebody who has accomplished what she has. You can’t.
Mitsouko Posted February 11 Posted February 11 These kiddies are gonna sensitize themselves into a corner, unloved and untouched. That being said, Meh-nifer Panned-iston can rot lol
