Big Bad Wolf Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Honestly it was pretty iconic. Now what about this queen? 2 1
professor2000 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 (edited) Are we ready to admit that the SONG was the only bad thing here? People way overreacted. Edited February 10, 2024 by professor2000

Walk_Away21 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 The way she would have a #1 hit if they counted YouTube back then 4

They would charge a few a thousand dollars to produce a song and video and worked with minor teen girls albeit with parents with the means to fund it (they would charge 2-4k). Rebecca sued them way back then for total ownership of the song and video. He was even accused of being a pedophile for this. I think the quality of the songs shows they did not have good intentions when producing this music. But for better or worse Rebecca is engrained in internet culture forever. ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted February 10, 2024 ATRL Moderator Posted February 10, 2024 It's pretty annoying how critics refuse to admit that songs like Friday ushered in the later turn to hyperpop. Like that idiotic Pitchfork review of Let Her Burn saying that Rebecca was copying hyperpop artists... No mama, she birthed them! 1

Illuminati Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 I feel like if she released it today she would still be bullied, but they would also dig through her social media tweets to justify it It's not so different nowadays. That being said she grew a lot from that artistically. She may not have had a resurgence like Justin after Baby but she also didn't give up which is great 1
Companion Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 My english was not good at that time and never understand the lyrics so I tought it was a really nice song. Still acted like I hated it tough.
