Brikenbur Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Disney+ keeps losing. They will either: 1) Not benefit too much from having her on their service because: - Swifties have already rented it multiple times on AppleTV/Prime Video - have seen the show in person or at the theater and don’t care to see it again 2) Gain a few thousand new subscribers and they will not renew after 30 days I could see if it were a Disney+ Eras Tour style docu-series which could be cool to watch that documents her dancers, crew, and some of Taylor, but they’re not going to gain too much from just a movie millions have already seen. Bosque Posted February 9 Posted February 9 This is very good value considering Netflix puts out a generic forgettable movie that costs 200m+ every week 2 1
Folklore89sm Posted February 9 Posted February 9 It’s actually crazy how much Scott Borchetta f*cked up. 2
Taylena Posted February 9 Posted February 9 For the people doubting if this will bring new subs and that Disney is losing with this deal, just go take a look at Disney's stock performance since this was announced. Disney is already winning just from securing The Eras tour film.
torontowest91 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 how much money does this girl have in her bank account
PrettyHurts Posted February 9 Posted February 9 i can't fathom how much she made in 2023 and now 2024 1
Klein Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Not ATRLers acting like they know better than Disney what is a good investment.

They are losing subscribers and bombing in box office left and right. 1 hour ago, Cruel Summer said: It’s an exclusive version of the most successful concert film of all time for an ongoing tour by the world’s biggest artist, and there’s already been a digital release to help gauge interest. I’m sure Disney felt they got a good enough deal. Maybe 40M would be a better deal for Disney? Taylor stanbase is huge and she will definitely bring more subscribers.
Feanor Posted February 9 Posted February 9 $75M is an obscene amount of money to pay just one person/team, but it's not hard to see why Disney paid so much for it. Apart from this simply being the biggest concert tour & film ever, it's also thee perfect concert to have on your streaming service as this show pretty much spans the entire catalog of the biggest artist of the 21st century, so it has high replay value, which is ideal for streaming services. Plus this is most likely an effort by Disney to double down on their relationship with Taylor, as she also gave her small City Of Lover concert to Disney+, is set to direct her movie for Searchlight Pictures (owned by Disney) and according to the rumor mills, might have a cameo appearance in the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie.
Toxicity. Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Mind you she invested $15m for the movie to be made with
JorgeM Posted February 9 Posted February 9 2 hours ago, Chartman said: How much of the $75 Million is her personal share and how much other people get of than money? She owns the movie, there isn’t any other production company apart from her or distributor so I would says everything (excluding the bonus that she would most likely will pay to the people who negotiated this on her behalf)
Slayn Posted February 9 Posted February 9 She should give all of her fans of 10+ years 1,000 dollars. 3
MatiRod Posted February 9 Posted February 9 They would need 500,000+ new subscribers who keep the service for more than a year to make up the cost Not impossible tbh
ALA Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Absolutely insane how much money she has made and continue to make from this tour. ... I can't wait to stream though nnn

BeenThereDoneThat Posted February 9 Posted February 9 You all are truly delusional if you believe this.
Kiel D-01 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Good for her if this is true but some here are acting as if they're getting a cut from it. Edited February 9 by Kiel D-01
Gojira Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Expect a savage round of cancellations and deletions at Disney+ to be announced soon.
