shyboi Posted February 9 Posted February 9 this will be good for Disney+, after a very bad early 2020s
Popular Post Hunter_13 Posted February 9 Popular Post Posted February 9 Made more money from disney+ than some made during their theatrical run! Interesting! 23
KingWitch Posted February 9 Posted February 9 "More than" she's going to topple that forbes list I'm afraid
SoldierofLove Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Not her making more money than some artists do during an entire tour or maybe even 5 tours. 1
kayliah Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Taylor swift is so smart. Intelligent and talented girl. She's way past her fortune if 1 billion at this point. She deserves the world. 2 1

Chartman Posted February 9 Posted February 9 How much of the $75 Million is her personal share and how much other people get of than money?
Klein Posted February 9 Posted February 9 More than $250M at the box-office, probably a few millions from renting, and now $75M from Disney+. All that for a $15M initial budget. 3 2
Sannie Posted February 9 Posted February 9 That makes sense. But I love how these streamers will drop crazy amounts of money for stuff and then justify raising their prices because "things are too expensive". 4
velocity Posted February 9 Posted February 9 good deal for her, **** deal for disney. her movies are in no way worth that much

This number is not some random figure they came up with, it is backed by real-world data. 2 3
eli's_rhythm Posted February 9 Posted February 9 That's just what she earns on a random weekend on tour 1
Cruel Summer Posted February 9 Posted February 9 4 minutes ago, velocity said: good deal for her, **** deal for disney. her movies are in no way worth that much It’s an exclusive version of the most successful concert film of all time for an ongoing tour by the world’s biggest artist, and there’s already been a digital release to help gauge interest. I’m sure Disney felt they got a good enough deal. 4 1
Ms. Togekiss Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I’m only resubbing if they edit it correctly like the actual eras tour and not lazily throw the cut performances at the end of the version played at theaters

I can't imagine anyone subscribing to disney+ just to watch it when they can rent it or buy it cheaper. It definitely won't bring in as much profit to them as they paid for it

But I do not think the goal of deals like this is to necessarily make their money back in new subs. It will be new subs + existing subs + the attention they get for having exclusive rights.
Vespertine Posted February 9 Posted February 9 23 minutes ago, velocity said: good deal for her, **** deal for disney. her movies are in no way worth that much Sure it is. Just look at this list of Disney+ originals/exclusives: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Disney%2B_original_films There are films with budgets anywhere from $40m to $60m, not including Pixar releases ($150m+ budgets) that got screwed up by covid. If they're willing to spend money on movies like that to try to get subscribers, why shouldn't they pay that much for one of the biggest cultural phenomenons in recent memory? I know the awful Lady and the Tramp remake is not bringing more subscribers than Eras.
