Chris Posted February 6 Posted February 6 It seems like everyone is all of a sudden a Celine fan now. 2
ForgottenSoul Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I mean TS saw that she ****** up so wanted a photo dont really see the issue? People here just wanting to hate TS it seems. 2

Let’s get this out of the way. But it came across as rude to many people watching. And Taylor’s publicist got feedback about it in real time and immediately cleaned it up by asking for the picture. That’s literally why she goes to shows with her client, to be able to anticipate things and get ahead of them. People denying this are concerning. What you said makes sense but people want to hate on TS for doing anything?
Gov Hooka Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Y’all all big artists (who are quite literally walking corporate entities) function with big PR teams making calculations like this ALL the time. To the folks who want to fault Taylor swift for this (call her selfish or whatever) or suck her dick for actually caring about Celine are BOTH delusional and talking out of your asses. You don’t know this woman personally to gauge her feelings towards celine but you can damn bet that pic was in fact posted as a PR move. Anyway this is dumb

I get the feeling she’s one that they they are probably nice to her face, but drag her when she’s out of earshot. Kind of like Hollywood’s reaction to Gwyneth Paltrow winning Best Actress, but on steroids.

dirrtydiana Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) Maybe tay was starstruck or something because she had 2 chances on stage to at least say hi or thank you. She didn’t have to acknowledge her like Miley did Mariah but it seems like she was unintentionally rude. Especially since she was so animated with everyone else there. Good thing she acted fast and got those backstage pics Edited February 7 by dirrtydiana
Bussea Posted February 7 Posted February 7 3 hours ago, IBelonginYourArms said: Hahahahaha First Miley overshadowing her with with her performing abilities (which is difficult to get, not everyone has it), then every peer cringing at her announcing her album at the stage, then her ass being exposed for being insensitive by that video with boygenius and her putting a Grammy on that girl's head and now this. How do you win an AOTY and still end up being an ecology-destroying insecure LOSER Bet she's crying to her pillow and recording TS12 about the perks of being a hated woman in the man-filled music industry my arms? more like a mental asylum i promise you baby it’s not that serious omg
Bussea Posted February 7 Posted February 7 this whole thing, along with the rest of the taylor swift discourse over the past couple of days is so forced and unserious

It was pretty obvious her peers were put off by her album announcement given the audience shots, but those are also the same peers that just gave her a 4th historic AOTY win So it really remains to be seen.

The sales of Falling Into You and Let's Talk About Love right after one another along with My Heart Will Go On slaying the charts at the same time shortly before the song wins an Oscar and is blasting at the end of one of the biggest movies of all time is bigger than anything Taylor has ever done, especially outside of Anglosphere. She's not only considered the second biggest female of all time but she's regarded as one of the greatest voices in music history. Taylor isn't any of that. Girl, nobody cares for this woman. The last time she was relevant was for that Titanic soundtrack. She doesn’t even have a single song with 1 billion streams on spotify (which is alarming for a “legend, even whitney houston has one) Taylor is much bigger than her 11
dumbsparce Posted February 7 Posted February 7 How did Taylor's team know that the internet would come for her though? I know that their job is to literally predict these kind of things but this specific incident was a little too out there to predict that there would even be backlash to begin with.

She wouldn’t be where she is if she wasn’t. What irritates fans is when her genuine aspects (oh which she is majority of the time) get lumped in

Machete Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Sorry but if I just won an award let alone a history breaking AOTY, I wouldn't give a **** about who is presenting it to me. Like it's her own moment and she's living through it? 2
Soda Pop Queen Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Céline has always been such a nice lady. A true international treasure. 1
Breathe On Moi Posted February 7 Posted February 7 that much was clear obviously, Celine is going through enough, I hate that this is turning into a whole thing.
Gladiator Posted February 7 Posted February 7 6 hours ago, =NEX= said: This was probably the first time Taylor was genuinely shocked to win an award to the point where she uncomfortably dragged Lana along with her, was absolutely lost for words initially and almost messed up her speech. Yes, snubbing Celine was distasteful, but she was truly in the moment of awe, disbelief and shock with her historic win. Of course she has utmost respect for someone like Celine, she is always so vocal about other legends and her collaborators. People trying to turn this into some kind of scandal seem to genuinely lack basic observational skills or too consumed by their hate for her. Like damn, find a hobby or something you can't blame her either. we were all just as shocked at her victory.
