An industry expert, who attended the Grammys and who watched Swift’s curious disregard for Dion on stage, described the P.R. “damage control” efforts of her team.

 

“I talked to someone backstage. The Taylor camp knew immediately this is a misstep,” Matthew Belloni, co-founder of the Puck digital media company, said on his “The Town” podcast Monday. “They were scrambling to get a photo of Taylor with Celine Dion, which they promptly put out, and that was damage control for the ‘Celine Moment.'”

This was probably the first time Taylor was genuinely shocked to win an award to the point where she uncomfortably dragged Lana along with her, was absolutely lost for words initially and almost messed up her speech. Yes, snubbing Celine was distasteful, but she was truly in the moment of awe, disbelief and shock with her historic win. Of course she has utmost respect for someone like Celine, she is always so vocal about other legends and her collaborators. People trying to turn this into some kind of scandal seem to genuinely lack basic observational skills or too consumed by their hate for her. Like damn, find a hobby or something
