Tudors Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) He helped end the Dixie chicks during their backlash era. I belive he would show a photoshopped picture showing her cuddling with Sadam hussein. Was a shame the chicks made such good music 😔 Edited February 6 by Tudors 7
BeenTheShit Posted February 6 Posted February 6 He discovered Taylor Swift early on and helped her get signed to Big Machine Records. Many will also remember his infamous feud with The Dixie Chicks over Bush, 9/11, and the Iraq War. ----- All that aside, it's still unfortunate that he passed away from cancer at only 62. May he RIP. 3 1
Achilles. Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Pretty complicated public figure. He was Trump trash and I have such awful memories of his nasty “patriotic” songs from after 9/11. He put out some of the worst country songs ever, especially in the 2010s when he tried endlessly to recreate “Red Solo Cup.” He helped bury the Dixie Chicks back in the day. But he also had a catalog of outstanding country hits, most of which he wrote himself. Should’ve Been A Cowboy Who’s That Man Does That Blue Moon Ever Shine On You You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This She Never Cried in Front of Me My List How Do You Like Me Now Beer For My Horses A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action Gods. If he weren’t a conservative **** head who tarnished his image with nasty politics and horrendous meme songs, this set of songs would likely be enough for me to put him above Garth Brooks. Instead I can’t stand listening to him at all. Oh, and he co-founded Big Machine, so Taylor’s entire career is basically part of his legacy. I don’t think she’s ever really acknowledged him like that, though, and I can’t really fault her for it. RIP to a complicated and extremely influential artist. 4
Aristede Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Cancer is so awful. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. At least he won't have to suffer anymore and may his family and friends find comfort.
PoisonPill Posted February 6 Posted February 6 His songs are so nostalgic for me, a period when I loved country pop and played it in my car.
SoldierofLove Posted February 6 Posted February 6 RIP to him. There was a period in my life when I really enjoyed some of his music. He ended up being a menace to society though so I have mixed feelings about him. Cancer is a harsh way to go though.

Vermillion Posted February 6 Posted February 6 This thread’s weird. All I remember of this man was he was seemingly everywhere during the peak Bush era and Dixie Chick’s backlash and I couldn’t stand hearing about him. I do believe in karma though so I won’t say anything else. 2 1
Scandalous Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) yall are some nasty individuals regardless of personal views and politics he didn’t deserve to DIE of cancer. jesus Edited February 6 by Scandalous 4
xXavril Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Holy crap!! That’s so sad and random, he was a really big part of my childhood (yes I grew up in yeehaw America it’s not my fault ) he was also my first concert. Got black out drunk and had a great time
DamianSolo Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I thought that's what I heard them say on the radio this morning. I Googled and saw recent pictures of him and he was barely even recognizable. It's so sad. May he rest in peace.

StonedSoulPicnic Posted February 6 Posted February 6 He was a talented songwriter. Thank you for the music, Mr. Keith.
