I mean, it makes sense since she’s releasing the album so fast. Singles are usually given time to live on the charts.

People make albums! People make album everyday! They don’t try to sell bunch of little quick singles and they burn out but not anymore

If that’s the case, why did she even release the first single. She should’ve just dropped the entire album all at once and without any prior singles like Midnights…

This is giving "let's see what song does the best on the charts"

And what’s wrong with that? That’s smart instead of promoting a single that’s not marketable….

I guess she wants to "push" yes, and? as much as she can but at least, she should try to make things more interesting, I don't know, go perform on TV maybe ? Like, do something :rip:

her choosing to demolish the possibility of having a PTTR to save this rollout and album, just sounds so unserious

I prefer this over releasing too much stuff before the album drops. It's gonna be worth the wait

At this point, this album is relying heavily on word of mouth and that’s it. It better be worth the hype…

This makes no sense whatsoever. The only thing I can think of is that she doesn’t want a second underperformance. You can’t underperform if you don’t release a 2nd single. :foxaylove2:

Even tho it’s underperforming, it’s still a hit, at least in the UK/Europe.

Girl you better cut the crap and drop the second single Feb 23rd

Did I say anything was wrong with it?

Won't she lose whatever little hype this album has?  Most people don't know she has an album coming out and that is a problem.

She realized how much of frontloaded ''yes, and?'' was, so it's probably the best decision to secure people's interest on the album.

'eternal sunshine' would've made bigger streaming numbers as a surprise release than it will do with this lackluster rollout.

but i see her team wanted the pre-orders

anyway, it will be big regardless of it

Bold of her considering the lead single isn't exactly smash.

I'm not worried tho, she's popular enough to pull it through. If the album delivers this could actually make it have a even bigger release impact.

I actually like it this way. I tend to overplay singles when they got released before the album and on the album listen I most likely skip those cause I have heard them too many times.

Following the ESV rollout to a T :toofunny3:

Can't wait for her "River".

I mean that would be fine if there was a shorter gap between the lead and the album

when the surprise is an eternal sunshine r.e.m beauty collection
