campelo Posted February 5 Posted February 5 lol making a joke about the bath water is sexual assault now 5
KanMap Posted February 5 Posted February 5 45 minutes ago, Gui Blackout said: Wait I just read the full story.... so this wasn't even a real interview, the guy just randomly came up to him in a hotel lobby with camera and asking him those questions?? Like that's literally harrassment. Jacob was absolutely in the right here . 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I don’t think the radio producer was that out of line to make a bath water joke to Jacob tbh. That scene has been being joked about all over socials lately and I think it was said in jest and not meant to be taken seriously. Jacob also got jokes about it on late night talk shows. Unless there’s more to the story that the producer did, Jacob’s reaction is absolutely psychotic. 8 1

ImpressMeMuch Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Everyone in here either calling this sexual assault or thirsting over physical assault duology of man 3

If the female was just in a generally pretty popular movie where one of the most talked about scenes was her costar drinking her bathwater I highly doubt that………………………. A woman would more likely be vilified in the media for throwing hands on the radio producer more than anything. Edited February 5 by Moloko Plus 2 1
imabadkid Posted February 5 Posted February 5 lemme run out this thread before I see a Saltburn spoiler before I can watch it!!!!!!!!!!!
Proseductice Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) 44 minutes ago, Gui Blackout said: If this was a female it would absolutely seen as such. You’re right, I agree with you. Regardless of what role he played in the movie, he was doing his job. He is not his character. Was it a “shocking” point in the film? Sure. At the same time how dehumanizing to have the work reduced to one moment. If a woman were constantly asked to discuss her intimate scenes in interviews and by reporters, (to smell a candle that smells like s*x bath water in front of an audience, etc.) it would absolutely be considered inappropriate. He did his job, leave the man alone. He absolutely could have handled it better than getting physical, but at the same time people have got to learn to be respectful and treat these people like humans. Edit to add: Also, to some arguments being made. To say it’s not a big deal because women go through this all the time so he should “suck it up”….they SHOULDN’T. Neither should men. Saint James Posted February 5 Posted February 5 imagine the reactions if a female celeb was stalked and filmed asking for her bathwater.
applestar Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Jacob elordi couldnt handle a phrase that the girlies receive all the time + the homophobia
wehan6 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 so so tired of people talking about this cringe and try hard scene 3
perfect blue Posted February 5 Posted February 5 48 minutes ago, Stunnah said: The blinds are implying he's generally violent. His attitude has always sucked. That's for sure. I'm inclined to agree. That was mild sexual harassment I guess but the response it elicited was extreme and primitive. Classically seen in violent, hypermasculine straight men who are easily triggered by even the suggestion of homosexuality. 5
ForgottenSoul Posted February 5 Posted February 5 1 hour ago, Dante Silva said: If any real man who is secure in his sexuality (such as Jamie Dornan, Henry Cavill or Orlando Bloom) were on the receiving end of an equivalent flirtation made applicable to any role of theirs, they would have simply laughed it off. All this Jacob Elordi person has proven is that he’s insecure in his sexuality, no good in bed and likely has a small *****. Now flip the sex.. a female celeb is asked for her bath water.. Sexism against men is just allowed and very open..
Mr. Mendes Posted February 5 Posted February 5 2 hours ago, Zefierce said: A celeb being asked for bath water is sexual assault now? And you wonder why people don’t take SA victims seriously? Assault? No. Provided the context of the of where the joke comes from? Harassment, most definitely. 2
Bussea Posted February 5 Posted February 5 ? i don’t get why anyone would ask anyone that??? that’s genuinely weird.
imabadkid Posted February 5 Posted February 5 soooo when are we gonna have a discussion about straight men in 2024 baiting gays IRL, on onlyfans, in the media, etc??? Because it is v much a thing and it seems to work well when one is getting their ego (or d*ck) stroked or making massive amounts of $$$$ from the community but you can’t put that toothpaste back in tube and that’s when it seems like all hell breaks lose. you can’t have it both ways. 2 7

tachiwaka Posted February 5 Posted February 5 43 minutes ago, Watson! said: not if the female filmed a scene like that Wow. Imagine someone asking Sharon Stone or Margot Robbie if they are currently wearing underwear because of Fatal Attraction and The Wolf of Wall Street. That would totally be warranted. 1
