Xbox collapsing: Starfield, Indiana Jones, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush etc on PS5

Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves report on PS5 release:

Indiana Jones on PS5:

Hellblade 2 is a possibility:

The first ones to come. Many of the next ones will shock us:

Even games like Halo are on the table:

Xbox changing strategy completely - Xbox One was more successful than Xbox Series (S/X), declines in hardware year over year. Gamepass subscribers have stagnated and is unsustainable; the market they have is not enough to offset the cost. Call of Duty may not be coming to game pass. In the last three months of last year, they had consoles for $350 and no one cared.

Keep in mind most of these reports are coming from actual Xbox insiders...and not from the competition.

This is it. Consoles will be all about Playstation and Nintendo alone. Xbox is going full 3rd party. Some of these games are also releasing on Switch (like Hi-Fi Rush).

Gamepass is also far from the dream MS expected.

Anyone surprised how Playstation just destroyed Xbox over the past 3 years?

They also hyped up the release of FFXIV on Xbox (after 10 years btw) and it requires a GamePass subscription (plus an FFXIV subscription) whereas you don't need PS Plus for FFXIV on PS4/PS5.. :lmao:

The Xtinct Series X is over if this gets announced

Like how do you fumble this bad lmao

Seems like buying every studio didn’t get them the sales they expected because people knew to just wait it out and the exclusives they did have reviewed kinda poorly.

I really am shocked though, they focused on the completely wrong things and now they own everything but are putting the games on the PS5 anyway

microsoft wants game pass to be everywhere, they're looking at everything they're doing as a way to create a netflix type model for games. console sales have meant little to them for a while, but throwing game exclusivity down the toilet is an...uh...interesting decision if true. it's basically like waving the white flag.

to think this pipeline all started because of that disastrous e3 a decade ago. they've never recovered. throwing money at the problem didn't solve anything.

I think they’re hoping for two things:

1). Multiplatform hits. Minecraft has been such a huge hit across all platforms and I’m sure they’re hungry for constant revenue like that.

2). The removal of XBox hardware will encourage more exclusives to later become available on PC. Sony has started to step away from PC releases as game sales have fallen and Microsoft makes a significant amount of money there.

The problem is...Gamepass itself is stagnating. Even with games like Starfield they probably made more money by selling it than having it on Gamepass. You could see Amazon having orders for 1 month of Gamepass on their best sellers for a while meaning most people never had intentions of staying inside the service OR paying for the game. They played the game, realized it sucked and left anyway.

Their plan of having Gamepass on Nintendo and Playstation also flopped and these brands never agreed to that, meaning that's more than 200M potential gaming units where their service has been denied as well.

MS expected gamers to look at gamepass as people look at Netflix and HBO, never realizing that the way videogames are consumed is VERY different than how we consume TV shows and movies. We always end up paying for the games we really want to play. Even i with PS Plus end up using it not that much cause i prefer to BUY the games i want to play...not the games a service chooses for me to play. It's simply not a good model for most gamers, since most people play one game at a time and around 6 or 7 games a year. The GP doesn't care for this and M<s never really realized that basic thing.

That's why Nintendo will never abandon their model...or Sony.

And if MS is literally starting to SELL their games on other consoles, they themselves are realizing their own service is not all that and ultimately SELLING your games is the way to go. Meanwhile Xbox spent 7 years educating their users to not buy games and devaluating them, and having them on their own service...how are you going back on this one day and try to make them buy anything ever again? You can't...

MS is also giving up on physical games, meaning lots of stores will probably not care if they sell Xbox hardware anyway since most of their sales come from software sales.

On top of all of this, Nintendo and Sony will now get around 30% of EVERY MS game that sells on their own stores.:rip:

How did MS kept ******* up i'll never know. But this is not just because of that one E3 in 2023...they kept failing ever seince then.

Sony ****** up with the PS3 and recovered DURING that same gen. Let's stop blaming one E3 from 12 years ago as the reason Xbox is now failing. This CEO has been ruining the brand for a decade now and the results are here.

PC and XBOX are essentially the same thing, so at this point console exclusive releases really don't make much sense.

Let's not forget the dozens of "PS exclusive" titles that eventually ended up on other platforms as well :rip:

From the outside looking in, it seems like Xbox is in its Sega Dreamcast era

All I care about is what this means for Elder Scrolls VI on PS5, which is looking more and more likely each day with revelations like this. :loki:

Yeah...years later. And they calmed down those releases as well after 2022 released 5.

Sony is a hardware company first. They want to sell consoles as well and software releases values their brand.

They already mentioned live games will be released day 1 on PC and Playstation and single player games are exclusive for at least 2 years. Things can always change, but they have over 50M consoles out there to release game for now while MS barely has 20M after 3 years :rip:
