DamianSolo Posted February 4 Posted February 4 A former coworker of mine had a foldable phone and I just couldn't get past that crease. It took me off guard every time I saw it. And it wasn't that much of a bigger phone, I was rather unimpressed. I quickly went from wanting one to not. And Apple Vision Pro isn't something that your average consumer is even buying due to its cost and limited availability. So, I don't think either has been impactful—not in the sense of them being any type of cultural reset. Once the cost comes down for the Apple Vision Pro and it's more widely accessible, as it relates to cost and production, I can see it being so.
Jack! Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I kind of think Apple deserves the kudos a bit more here, because the Vision Pro genuinely seems like a game-changing piece of technology. And foldable phones are essentially a re-invention of a previous tech feat and they've still not managed to perfect the modern technology they're using. However, in the current circumstances, AVP is niche and isn't a necessity to computing and starting at $3,500 it's not realistically priced enough for people to warrant buying it.
