rihannafan Posted February 1 Posted February 1 There's a reason the most streamed female artists are two singers who debuted in the 2000s. Tiktok has ruined music and I'm glad UMG realized that. 1 1
Polgg48 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 with all AI altered sped up reverb chopped things all those non-license clips, it's due time to protect label's properties and creativity from those sneaky influencers/algorithm. their right to do so. 1
chiliam Posted February 1 Posted February 1 they are nor lying though why dont label ask radio to pay royalty lol 1
cuteboyzay Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) “TikTok has ruined Music these days” PLEAASSEE y’all are only saying that so you can gloat about your Fave Artist’s stats Y’all do not care about these lesser known artists if you think TikTok was the one ruining music. A lot of the lesser known artists wouldn’t have half the audience/fans today if TikTok did not exist. Let’s face it, TikTok has helped music tremendously. I don’t mind the charts being full of random songs tbh lol. Lets other artists get more recognition. Edited February 1 by cuteboyzay 6

Letemtalk Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Youtubers complain when their video gets demonetised, because it had copyrighted music and they all say the same thing as TikTok .... but we're promoting the artists, not stealing from them... we're giving them free promo. People should be able to get paid for streams. There is no difference if the streaming service is Spotify, YouTube or TikTok. Imagine how ATRL would react if Spotify, AM and YT went 100% free and didn't pay the artists. Spoiler Imagine if Spotify didn't publish charts - this site would be unusable for weeks.

I agree here, usually on a YT video if it has copywritten music the ad revenue just goes to the label even with shorts ... TikTok wants to use the music and not compensate because their giving "free promo".
Windy Day Posted February 1 Posted February 1 i just realized it’s going to make sped up versions / tiktok remixes blow up even more i’m already seeing people on my page telling others to just speed up songs or do remixes with voices over (like it has always been done). in conclusion, nothing will change on tiktok and UMG will probably be the biggest loser in this
Maroonx Posted February 1 Posted February 1 RIP Swift’s TikTok music library before the purge. Image: TikTok And after the purge. Image: TikTok 1

Letemtalk Posted February 1 Posted February 1 13 hours ago, chiliam said: they are nor lying though why dont label ask radio to pay royalty lol Many radio stations do pay royalties. Quote BBC Radio 1, for example, pays PRS £13.63 per minute, while BBC Radio 2 offers PRS a tasty £24.27 per minute. BBC Radio 6 Music, on the other hand, pays just £5.25 per minute. These figures are from 2016, so the amounts may well have changed since, as listenership fluctuates year on year. According to data from 2013, BBC Radio 1 pays PPL £37.76 per minute. BBC Radio 2 pays £82.07 per minute, and BBC Radio 6 Music pays £8.06 per minute. Again, these figures will be out of date now. https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/how-radio-royalties-actually-work/ 1

Ion know about Harlow tho girl he be gettin on my nerves Not too long ago a lot of us were worried that we were running out of potential/newer pop girls that could pop up on the scene lmao! GeminiCat Posted February 27 Posted February 27 UMPG songs starting to get removed. All of SZA songs (except Saturn) gone and even Doja’s hits PTTR, Agora Hills (UMPG producer) have been removed as well. Plus if you go on tiktok, lots of artists on this list have their songs muted on their page. This is about to get BAD. UMG is gonna directly screw a ton of artists that aren’t even on their labels in their songs have writers or producers from UMPG.
BryceG Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I heard a rumour that Warner Music Group has made an offer to pay TikTok to use its library to auto-replace all missing Universal tracks, if a user opts in.
