The trailer is so good :jonny: I've watched it like 3 times

I'm so excited for this, it's gonna be amazing for her to finally be able to fully tell her story

I read a Vogue article where she stated shes been silently fighting it since Taking Chances World Tour and only got worse during the pandemic..

I only read the Vogue article today and I had no idea she had symptoms for that long, if you look at her during all those years she looked and sounded fantastic. It's such a shame that she has had to live with this for so long now.

The pandemic really screwed up an entire career peak moment for her, I mean the Courage Word Tour was on track to become a Top 10-grossing female tour

The European shows exept a few, were completely sold out, almost 200,000 were expected at the 6 Paris shows, 3 shows in Amsterdam and Antwerp, a few stadiums shows in Stockholm, Athens, Bucharest and Tel Aviv and the tickets prices were very high

There were rumours she would have returned to Asia and Oceania too

Very sad that it ended like that

Word is that her body also took a toll during her A New Day residency because of the way the stage was angled:

Many dancers and staff members stayed on for the full five-year run, a rarity in the industry, especially considering the grueling set-up. (The stage is raked at a punishing 5.7-degree angle, and injuries are common. Ms. Dion's advice to Ms. Midler: "Tell them to fix the stage.")https://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/17/arts/music/17celi.html

The stage was designed to slope upward at 5.7 degrees away from the audience, to provide the best acoustics possible in a circular theatre. The other purpose of the sloped stage was to show lighting details, designs, and textures of the stage for Dion's show. This proved extremely hard on the dancers' bodies, and a few were forced to leave the show early as a result of their injuries.https://queenceline.weebly.com/a-new-day.html

So going into the Taking Chances World Tour just two months after A New Day ended must've been hard on her body.

Streets been saying Celine will likely announce her retirement :frown:

??? according to her last interview from 2 days ago on TODAY... she will be announcing new live performances.

She sounds almost ready to announce new live performances during this interview.

The CBC interview gave me way more hope than the Amazon clip, she sings some lines in there and she's still got it, she even tried to do an example of how bad she sounded and she just couldn't :dies:

I guess it's gonna be a situation where she has good and bad days. She said she wants to sing live again but her doctors still can't tell her if she is able to do it, I'm guessing they're afraid of her crisis and how unpredictable they are :gaycat6:

I don't know how I'll be able to get through this. I grew up on Céline. I remember stealing my mom's DVD with all her music videos and watching it on my old CRT TV as a little boy. If I can't even watch her go through this, it must be the worst thing in the world for her to be experiencing it. She's truly the strongest woman I know. I wish her nothing but the absolute best. We love you, Céline! :heart2:

Just came back from the theater.. here in Quebec it plays in theater since yesterday night, French subtitles when she speaks English

Man for real it's tough

You really understand the gravity of her disease in that documentary, the scene when she has a crisis is so hard to watch, you can't believe it happens to her, it's so heartbreaking to witness that, there is no word for real

The saddest part for me was when she struggled to sing Love again in the studio, letting her never satisfied and so disappointed with the result, it's very sad to be witness of that situation, a singer that lost momentary the capability to sing, I just can't imagine the feeling it must be

That moment when she cries because she doesn't want to present that to the public is very sad

that woman so passionate by music and so kind, so full of joy, always good words for all artists, so much respect for everybody, man the sadness of it all, I can't

I really hope she's doing ok nowadays since that documentary was filmed almost 2 years ago. Best hope for her and her career, it should have never happens to her, that woman went trough so much things

All Quebec is behind you Celine and the world too, I'm sure you'll comeback stronger

I couldn't bring myself to see it in the theatre. I'm going to be so emotional watching it.

What a lovely documentary. Those scenes of her in pain and her resilience and determination to keep singing made me tear up so much. :cries: She's such an angel meant to give light to this world, she deserves all the happiness in the world. Which I'm glad she still has, but she's gone through so much hardship that no one should ever endure. Love her so much!

I just finished watching the documentary and it was absolutely heartbreaking watching her having a crisis on camera, it's just horrible what this disease puts her through.

I really enjoyed the documentary as she was 100% herself and we saw all her strengths but struggles too (for example the recording session of Love Again).

I'm so glad she seems to be doing better now than when she was shooting the documentary.

the scene of her having a crisis towards the end was so harrowing to witness, oh my god. to be honest, the documentary ended on a really sad note.

it's the only thing I would criticize about the doc, it should have ended with a more optimistic approach but at the same time I mean it's a serious disease and situation but she's Celine the most optimistic singer out there
