Josh Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) Avril & P!nk were created to be the anti Britney & Christina but all four of them were major parts of pop music in the early 2000's P!nk & Avril vs Britney & Christina Edited January 29 by Josh
BrandNewBrandon Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) Britney and Christina were talked about, compared to, pitted against each other, mocked and one of the most famous rivalries in music history. You were team Britney or team Xtina. The closest we came to such a rivalry since albeit it being very short was Gaga vs. Katy in 2013. Edited January 29 by BrandNewBrandon
Erreur2 La Nature Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Britney Spears alone was bigger than all 3 combined. 2
XtiRih Posted January 30 Posted January 30 This talented Legend Trendsetter, the most talented from her generation, most influential in terms of music, the best music #noproduct 1 3
Eat The Acid Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Britney and Avril girl. Pink barely made it through the 2000s. She was bigger in the 2010s. Christina was always a none factor. 1
CandleGuy Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Christina is so lucky that she gets to have her career success lumped in with Britney's

Nah, I’d argue that Bey vs Rih were bigger than Gaga vs Katy. agree with everything else tho.
Bosque Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) Britney and Avril. Let's be serious for one moment. In the early 2000s, Britney Spears released Britney and In The Zone, and Avril had Let Go, one of the biggest smash albums of all time. At that point, Avril was bigger than Britney. Pink couldn't even get a Top 5 album in that time. Edited January 30 by Dephira 1
Støned Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Alicia and Beyonce would make a better comparison to Britney and Christina

Pink couldn't even get a Top 5 album in that time. In that same time frame all four had similarly successful albums (in 2002-03) and each of them had huge hits attached to them. But the Britney vs. Christina rivalry went beyond sales and into pop culture unlike the other two. They even paired them up at the VMAs just to cause a conversation. They were a bigger topic, while the other two weren't even a topic at all. If anything, Avril was mostly a topic in terms of rivalry to Britney because of her being labeled the "anti-Britney".

I did think of Rih vs. Bey for a moment but chose not to mention them because their rivalry was less controversial. Gaga vs. Katy had meltdowns, stan wars and charts and sales in them. It was a literal rivalry because of them releasing their singles on the same day.

Xtina's Stripped was one of the biggest albums of 2002-04 and produced smash hits (Beautiful in the US, Dirrty + Beautiful outside of the US) and even had the biggest female tour in 2007. How you came up with that is ridiculous.
toxicgenie Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The pop-rock cohort I remember was Avril, Kelly Clarkson, Ashley Simpson and Hillary Duff. Pink was in her own lane because she changed sounds and image. She had success but it was spread out. she became huge around the 2010s.
Slayn Posted January 30 Posted January 30 If you put Britney with any of the other 3, any team with Britney on it would still win
