Jukebox Posted January 29 Posted January 29 The new single’s called Von Dutch isn’t it? Or something like that. I’m sure an insider posted lyrics to it the other day.
Mystic Warrior Posted January 29 Posted January 29 On her new hotline, she just sent this out saying “this week is going to be fun”. Single release date maybe? Single itself? 1

Well yes, like the finest vintage wine let me spoiler my mini-essay about it that nobody asked for Spoiler Truthfully I do want more of it, because there’s almost nothing else that really makes me feel the way its best tracks do. Next Level Charli, Gone, Silver Cross, February 2017 - tracks like that have this kind of pure magic to them that I think comes from a perfect balance of traditional pop sensibilities with Charli and AG Cook’s signature collaborative approach to hyperpop. Plus the additions made by Lotus IV, who I think is an underrated and incredible producer. The resulting sound interesting and layered and complex and dynamic, but has this sense of underlying tranquility and flow, of contemplative thought and reflection. Even some of the offshoots and unreleased demos from the Charli sessions capture this feeling for me - Miss U, Don’t Call Me, Dance All Night, and of course my favorite that I mentioned in the prior post, Witch V Witch. One of the main issues with her doing more of that sound is that I don’t think she’s the kind of artist who loves to retread the same ground too much. It’s unlikely we’d get anything truly analogous to Charli on the next album. But that’s why I call out Witch V Witch - it’s not really like anything else in her discography, so it represents growth and evolution from that kind of sound. It goes a little harder during the first and last sections of the song, but has that core that’s clearly sweeter, that takes the sounds of Charli and the high-pitched voice that’s a hallmark of the “tropical pop” that I think influenced that album and makes something fascinating out of it. And of course, I can appreciate that not everyone was as into it as I am, but I’m really into it. 2
Cameltoe Chariot Posted January 29 Posted January 29 If it's actually called Von Dutch... I looooved Crash, but her y2k kink is getting super stale

Haven’t heard the name Uffie in years, instantly takes me back to university house parties in unfinished basements
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted January 29 ATRL Moderator Posted January 29 Is Von Dutch going to be a Peaches-esque Y2K indie dance anthem? 2
