West Coast Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Cute little chill spring album but I wish it had more upbeat songs and different sonics, anime eyes is the most interesting track
AnonnonA Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Excited to hear this in 1.5 hours’ time! Happy to see the positive reactions here (vs the slightly mixed critical reviews)

Happy to see the positive reactions here (vs the slightly mixed critical reviews) I loved the record but I don’t think it’s an album for everybody, not because of the quality of the music but more in the sense that it doesn't sound super mainstream like Golden Hour or Star-crossed… so I get why it can be divisive if you’re not really into reflexive writing or a folk-leaning sound
IMadeYouReadThis Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Finally listening I think Cardinal might be her magnum opus WHEW

Especially with other critics panning it…..this is becoming more divisive than even Star Crossed
AndresVanDeKamp Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Easily better than the last effort. Definitely more chill. Will be perfect for Spring!

normanikordeix Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Will definitely be a grower (i hope), on first listen the standouts for me were the architect and moving out
beyonceparkwood Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Just finished and I’m so confused by Pitchfork and Rolling Stone’s reviews? Only time will tell if it’s superior to Golden Hour, but it is definitely on par with it. Cardinal is probably my favourite Kacey song to date, that bridge is insane! 1
