She's the most relevant celebrity in the world right now other than Taylor, no question. Every year, people try to end her and she comes back with a bigger era than ever, the seething and jumping at any attempt to "end her" has been so entertaining to watch. She is undoing the very legacy she worked hard to create. Commercial success slows down for every artist, what will her “edit” be when hers (totally) fades? Bear in mind even the Barbz are surprised PF2 is holding up now. That TikTok’er that said “Nicki Minaj doesn’t know she’s Nicki Minaj” (and then got attacked by…Nicki Minaj) was right on the money. Because this will inevitably die down at some point and it will be business as usual (more features, more mid albums and mid tours etc), she probably thinks she’s Teflon to the backlash. But it’s her historical edit that will take the biggest hit. She’ll have the crazy, washed edit despite her many commercial receipts. I hate sexism but she won’t even get the pass the likes of Kanye gets on the merit of being a woman (note: neither of them deserve a pass for their antics).
