Mexican pop singer Peso Pluma allegedly made up threats from a drug cartel to cancel his own show.

The acclaimed artist is said to have been believed to have received death threats from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), which reportedly led him to cancel his show in Tijuana, Mexico, last October. However, it's now been claimed that poor ticket sales were the real reason for the cancellation, with only a third of the available 30,000 tickets reportedly sold.

Journalist Luis Chaparro posted on Twitter, recently: "Peso Pluma had to cancel his concert in Tijuana for Oct last year due to alleged threats from a Mexican cartel. Turns out he only sold 10,000 tickets out of 30,000 and used a narco banner to avoid paying back the sold tickets."

It’s beyond me how someone willingly would pay to hear his mediocre ass sing since he doesn’t even dance (Although Bad Bunny is the same so it shouldn’t surprise me tbh)

He should drop the boomer guitar sound for some beats. That's how you sell arenas.  His voice will still be a problem, tho

I doubt it he’s been selling out everywhere even here in the states.

Can't deny his creativity

He struggles to sell venues even in Mexico.

Even the local media was dragging him because he couldn't sell out Foro Sol (65k) in Mexico City even with 2 for 1 ticket deals.

My students love him. Maybe he should consider playing more small town farmer’s markets. :suburban:

just went through the original "source". Nothing more than an unknown reporter using clickbait and assumptions to get paid subscribers.

What's REALLY sh*tty is the way these larger publications are able to just reference any article and pass it off as an "alleged truth".
