I was really looking forward to going again, but these headliners just don’t excite me. This. These headliners and artists overall are dry. And trying to fill that Latin gap with J. Balvin & Peso Pluma? Flops. The line-up is atrocious. They got what they deserved. 2 1
Phaunzie Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) I mean only two performers are headlining the event, Doja and Tyler. Also Perfume and Kyary are absent. Edited January 24 by Phaunzie 1
anti-bitch Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I feel like there was a surge of demand for live music last year after the Covid years but now it's starting to cool down. And yes, people are running out of money after the years of high inflation, so there could be a lot of other gigs and festivals struggling to sell tickets this year not just Coachella.
scenekiller Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Nobody wants to shell out that kind of money in 2024 for a miserable experience with thousands of annoying people, especially when everything around us is falling apart. Lana and Doja also just toured and I'm sure most of their fans got to see them. There's no incentive to go.
Alongoria13 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I mean imagine going from Depeche Mode, Tool and Madonna as headliners to Peso Pluma, Lana and Doja 3 1 1 4

(lame for sure). Not peso. PP is headlining Baja Beach fest and that's gonna sell QUICK! 1 1
Dolce Vita Posted January 24 Posted January 24 coachella been over like unless you’re an influencer that’s going for free it doesn’t seem that fun for regular people waiting in long lines for toilets + overpriced truck food idk… 2 1

Whenever I see footage from coachella, particularly from influencers, I don’t envy them at all. It doesn’t look fun. It looks overcrowded, overpriced, and like it’s targeted for influencers and clout chasers. 2
ohyallwantedatwist Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I went the last two years and decided against going this year as soon as the lineup dropped lol. Can’t justify spending the time and money with a lineup this underwhelming.

Varrock Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) Honestly, this is the first lineup that’s gotten me excited in a while, minus Tyler. With that being said, I was supposed to go last year and after all said and done, the costs of flying out for like 4 days with everything included with accommodation (if you can even find any), etc., easily runs over $2-3K with the GA ticket prices and everything. It’s just not worth it during difficult economic times as is. 40 minutes ago, CandleGuy said: We're all going to Lovers and Friends instead Now THIS I’m actually considering instead Edited January 24 by Varrock

Ewan Chaos Posted January 24 Posted January 24 There are obviously still great acts here (Erika, Tinashe just to name a few), but the lineup is the worst I've seen in a very long time Plus it seems like people's interest in concerts is waning a bit after the post-COVID boom. So those two issues combined are probably why we're where we are with the low ticket sales. I'm sure there's other things too (missing a legacy headliner or one to draw in people older than 25, the festival sounding like it's getting worse as just an influencer festival, etc.) but I think these have been issues for a couple of years now.
yonsé Posted January 24 Posted January 24 concerts are too expensive these days for most people. this lineup isnt enough to make gen z spend their coins.
Mandalore Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Everybody is broke from going to The Eras tour it seems 1
