GreenFrequncey Posted February 20 Posted February 20 The way I’ve been replaying this SONG since it’s been released. I do enjoy the video, even though people wanted to see the original, well as I. The video reminds me of a late 90’s early 2000’s nostalgic vibe. Also, I’m sensing that she’ll be releasing the album in MAY or JUNE. I know that’s pretty far, but I can see her releasing a promo single before the release to build more hype. I know she’s going to serve with the album.
SayIt Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Chaos Theory indeed. It is unfortunate how multiple things some members mentioned that did not turn out well with the era. I’m sure the transition is an adjustment for Dua switching management. I’m sure it can be stressful for her and that there are things going on behind the scenes that we don’t know that comes into play. I think what is important now is that she has someone in her corner that she feels has her best interest. And whatever things that did not turn out well that her and her team can learn from them and improve moving forward. I think as fans that should be more supportive and understanding and less judgmental.

DoubleRainbow! Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Let’s be honest either you are lucky enough to release a song that goes viral on TikTok (greedy, Lovin on Me) or you rely on controversy to get an instant hit (Flowers, Shakira’s Bizarrap Session)

Jonathan Cruz Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) 39 minutes ago, HappierJealousy said: Dua literally faces the same problem here as Billie and Olivia’s sophomore - The music quality is basically the same, or even much better, but the GP just started to get exhausted of their voice/sound/type of music, so the decline was generally observed. This doesn’t mean their music doesn’t evolve, the difference is just not recognizable enough for GP, and that’s why most female artists can’t even survive the 4th era. More promotion and performance with better management might help but the overall trend won’t change. I think a HTE/Guts level of success is guaranteed for the album and Dua will be fine unless the rest of the album is extremely weak. She just need to believe herself, release the album asap and then start touring, finish the era properly, and consider the steps after that seriously Nice observation. HTE and Guts deserved way better, both divas evolved so much in between eras. Edited February 20 by Jonathan Cruz
Relampago. Posted February 20 Posted February 20 The way I wish my flop faves like Tinashe could have successes like TS/Houdini and they’re being labeled as declines here

ANG3L Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Good thing is she won't take another 4 years gap to release another album 1

Popboi. Posted February 20 Posted February 20 The real question is where are the radio adds? It would easily be top 20 1
Papi Juancho Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Top 30 with no airplay, I think it's good. Her other songs before Houdini debuted outside the Top 40 with 25M of radio right? This shows that her fame really grew in the US after FN, maybe not on the level of Olivia or Billie, but it did.
NostalgiawithDua Posted February 20 Posted February 20 She really doesn’t need to release another single before the album, it’s only 11 tracks. Her working with Ian, Danny, Kevin made me think we might get 13-15 track album but she loves herself some short albums….
ultraviolence.xx Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) i hope they panic and give us Chaos Theory: The Vertigo Edition with 5 extra songs on day 2! (not that i think they need to be panicking) Edited February 20 by ultraviolence.xx

MatiRod Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Obviously I am just a random person on the internet but I'm also a writer and an artist, and if I were to put my record exec hat on, I would say I would tell Dua to try making a ballad. I feel like she needs to come with something unexpected. And she has such a strong, distinct voice and it would work amazing on a ballad. 80s sounds are still en vogue. Why not a modern take on a "Live to Tell" type song. 4 3
