I just hope messy releases, bad mvs and lack of promo are only a one off thing with DL3 era exclusively. DL4 better not have this level of mess with the rollout. Also once DL3 is out and we get to consume it and enjoy it as a full body of work I hope she begins working on DL4 asap. This era clearly will not be able to sustain a multi year campaign like her previous ones so she needs to move to her 4th record pretty quickly once the tour for DL3 is over. Hoping for a early 2026 release for DL4 1

Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The only real mess here are her using so many promo slots on Oscar campaigning DTN (which was obviously not getting a nomination) instead of promoting Houdini and the Training Season video being... that. The music is there, the GRAMMYs performance was probably her best to date, the Houdini video (while not looking expensive) was very good.

Relampago. Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I would also like to say that Dua has a very regular degular personality, and she does not shine in personality-based interviews. She’s too gorgeous to be a “I’m just a regular girl!” ala Taylor too, and the FN era fully elevated her to glitz and glamour anyways. She should focus more on interviews like she did with Tim Cook because she’s very smart and smart interviews are where she really shines. In fact, leaning into the smart but pretty thing can be her image, because these quick lil interviews just aren’t giving anything if you’re not already a fan. The songwriter angle she was trying to take with DTN and sorta the Kimmel interview didn’t sell me either. She either needs to spill the details or just avoid talking about the album process until she’s ready to actually announce something. 1

This might be her Joanne era and I'm fine with that. I'm enjoying the music and that's what counts

But after 4 listens on mobile nothing really sticks with me - neither instrumental, nor lyrics, nor melody. Houdini was kinda catchy after a couple of plays at least. So not sure where this will go
4th Time Around Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) I have mixed feelings on this era so far The two singles have been great, I fully expect another killer album, musically I am satisfied. It is the messy rollout and lack of good aesthetics that are holding things back. Training Season video was mediocre by her very average video standards and the promotion strategy has been so head scratching. I don't think this era will end up being some massive bomb or anything, some of you almost seem desperate to see her fail. Let's just give it some time and see, we all know Dua's longevity is a given thing at this point. Edited February 17 by 4th Time Around 2

Just because she doesn't fight with dragons and has superpowers in it, doesnt make it a bad music video. We have 2 AMAZING POP SONG who have LOTS OF POTENTIAL but yall still not happy ?
