brenda-walsh Posted February 16 Posted February 16 hmmm I think the song is a bop, but I don't know how I'm feeling about Dua this era so far... I feel like TS and Houdini are bops, but nothing more. With FN she really made a statement and pushed herself into that upper echelon of the industry with amazing songs, performances, etc. Right now I'm not really feeling this current era too much but lets see how the album is 4
rickycabello123 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 FLOP. MADE NO NOISE! @duascoochie is shooketh ♡☆

Cameltoe Chariot Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Second song in a row from her that has NO levels! I just complained about this same thing in a thread about Beyonce's Texas Hold Em - all these songs start at the chorus level and then just... stay there. It goes nowhere, there's no build or shift. Even the videos have the same problem. 2 3 1
goldstargay Posted February 16 Posted February 16 IDK what it is but i am not feeling this era at all. The melodies aren't hitting me. 7

Pasha Posted February 16 Posted February 16 where all these fans that were saying it’s a global hit 💀💀💀 low budget era, slaaaayyy
Spark Posted February 16 Posted February 16 The cycle of an ATRL Dua thread is so tired. Two months of anticipation. 1 hour of excitement/happiness/enjoying the music. 6 months of complaining and doom-posting about her career being over because the song isn't a mega smash like Levitating or Don't Start Now. #STOPTHEDRAMA #STARTTHEMUSIC 3 2 1
Relampago. Posted February 16 Posted February 16 All I can really fault Dua for this era is the lack of performances, but we just got a stellar Grammy performance and the BRITs on the horizon. I do think she expected that she might have performed at the Oscats/other award shows for DTN or something so they cleared space for that. Now that the era has REALLY kicked off, I’ll be keeping a closer eye on her and expecting more. But the music quality is there. The effort is there. They’re definitely trying to build her a fanbase with all these little games they’re doing with the fans. It’s not a bad tactic to solidify her base before trying to make that leap into another FN sized era. And she can’t really force people to like her music, unless she starts lowering her quality and chasing fodder hits. I’d much rather her stay true to her vision than be the most successful new pop girl, but much like FN, I think she’ll have her cake and eat it too in that this era won’t be a flop and will also be acclaimed again. 11
CottageHore Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I keep seeing people on TikTok claiming this will be the biggest song of the year and I’m not understanding the appeal. I love Dua and Houdini was an instant smash in my ass but this is just kind of boring. Is it catchy? Yes. Is the production good? Yes. But I’m not hearing the “psychedelic” influence that people keep referencing and the lyrics and overall melody is just kind of been there done that for Dua but I do hope this is another big smash for her. 2

ihavequestions Posted February 16 Posted February 16 what the hell did she put into this song? i haven’t loved a song like this in YEARS
unclefloprry Posted February 16 Posted February 16 the fact that I'm only listening the extended lemme stream the og
ariananext Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Houdini and this are two of my favourite MPG songs of the past few years, she's really serving 10/10 bops this year. I loved FN but this is a whole new level 3
Duanielipa Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I'm so obsessed with the post chorus even if its her witness era ill still be streaming

Apparently not performing on Graham Norton next week in the U.K. some guy called Justin Timberlake is. Words fail me.

This shade don't hit when DL3 is on track to not even outstream As It Was (one song). I'm also not a hater. OT: Ugh this is nowhere close to the excellence she had for Future Nostalgia!
Afferty Posted February 16 Posted February 16 both the song and the music video are underwhelming… especially the video is just so stale
romanhoIiday Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) This album is so much better than FN already and FN was incredible. Dua never stops being a hitmaker. Edited February 16 by romanhoIiday 6
