OBEY Posted February 16 Posted February 16 This is really good. Hopefully it does as good as Houdini in Canada!
Bethenny Frankel Posted February 16 Posted February 16 when she starts singing the chorus, it sounds like duallah is speaking to me directly
OBEY Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Just now, unclefloprry said: Houdini deserved this type of reception from the GP, but everybody was brainwashed by those Twitter atrls and their "ugh, her music always sounds the same" What reception from the GP though? it’s way too early to tell lmao
ANG3L Posted February 16 Posted February 16 we're a getting a BRITs performance real soon omg I forgot about it 1
unclefloprry Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Just now, OBEY said: What reception from the GP though? it’s way too early to tell lmao All I see is people praising this on social media, for Miss Dini half the comments were "her music always sounds the same".
ANG3L Posted February 16 Posted February 16 If she releases DL3 in April: Houdini - 400 mi Training Season - 200 mi? She'll have to work really hard to match FN and DL1 numbers, both albums have 9+ billion, which is insane. I saw her A&R from Warner saying she'll take another 2-3 year promoting this album.
James_XL Posted February 16 Posted February 16 This was already stuck on my head so ofc I'm obsessed now, I really love how Tame Impalaish it sounds
Abracadabra Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Why do parts of this remind me melodically of Baby by Marina and Clean Bandit?
If I'm Dancing Posted February 16 Posted February 16 is it just me or does the song sound clunky in certain parts? like some parts just sound smashed together instead of her usual way of building momentum idk how to describe it 8

LanaXtinaFan Posted February 16 Posted February 16 not 827 sales. I laugh every time I see fan bases brag about iTunes positions. 3
unclefloprry Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I think this is more grammy bait than Houdini. I lost At least Miss Dini on BPDP
robattack332 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Song is a bop. It may have the same issue as Houdini being stripped back some. It's meant to be more of a groove than a banger. But people expect a banger and end up underwhelmed. Hopefully it'll stick. The video though The concept had so much potential too which could've been done well minimally (Houdini was amazing, the outfit was just really offensive enough to ruin it).
_Fey Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I can't get over the production. Piano, psychedelic synths, guitar, and an organ all coming together. It sounds so simple but there's so many layers. 6

MatiRod Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Damn they really scrapped that whole Romain Gavras expensive video
BrokenMachine Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Now I need a music video for the extended version and a studio version of the Grammys version with those ABBA-like backing vocals

Chemist Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Houdini is musically superior but this sounds more like a hit
TrueBlood Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Don't get me wrong, it's a good song. But I think it could have been better. Once again, the extended version gives a bit more oomph to this just like it did with Houdini (not as much tho). I think the verses are the best part of the track, the chorus sounds a bit too safe and "restrained" if that makes sense.
