Mr. Loco Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Argylle director Matthew Vaughn is setting the record straight: Taylor Swift did not write this book. Vaughn, 52, told Rolling Stone he first heard about the internet conspiracy theory that Swift, 34, is the author behind Argylle's source material and that the author Elly Conway was actually a pseudonym. (Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elly in the movie, as a fictional famous spy novelist.) “I’m not a big internet guy, and it was actually my daughter who came up to me — this is the power of celebrity and the internet — and said, ‘You never told me Taylor wrote the book!’ " Vaughn said. “And I’m looking at her going, ‘What are you talking about Taylor Swift wrote the book? She didn’t write the book!’ " "I was laughing because I was like, ‘It’s not true! She didn’t write the book!' " he added. "But my daughter was convinced of it.” Swift fans began speculating online that the pop star might be behind the Elly Conway pseudonym due to a number of details related to the book and movie that fans thought could be easter eggs. That included the book's cover, which features a Scottish Fold cat who looks similar to Swift's pet Meredith Grey. https://people.com/taylor-swift-definitely-didnt-write-book-argylle-despite-online-conspiracy-says-director-8426849#:~:text=Argylle director Matthew Vaughn is,Conway was actually a pseudonym.
Reflektor Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) This is so bizarre. The non-stop trailers for the last four months have been annoying enough. Now to find out it's a first time novel by "Elly Conway" but Conway is actually a pseudonym. But the film cost $200 million (!!!!!!) for what appears to be a generic spy thriller/rom com that seems to recall that Sandra Bullock/Channing Tatum monstrosity from last year? And the book isn't out yet?! Edit: It was released last week. Something in the milk is VERY unclean here. Edited January 24 by Reflektor
Cameltoe Chariot Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I'm begging Swifties to go outside. Pleading, even. PLEASE. 5 6
Tm4074 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 The funniest part of this is the idea Taylor would anonymously ghost write a book that is the source material for a big upcoming movie and she's okay with the public not knowing about it. Taylor has never been shy about her success. Swifties being delusional and looking for easter eggs in absolutely everything is the least shocking thing lol. 1

Well she did anonymously ghost write that Rihanna song. So it would not be unprecedented.
