Jack did not produce Blue Banisters.

Ocean Blvd is charting for 35 weeks on the BB200. No other album of hers has stayed for that long on the charts since UV. 80 on MC, five Grammy nominations and today almost 2.8 million daily streams.

Sounds more like a "you" problem.

Stop blaming Jack that your fave messed up. It's not his fault.

Personal opinions exist. It's my personal opinion so of course it's "my" problem. (if we look at the replies in this post it's not even a me problem but anyways). I don't have to agree with what others think. We're talking about Lana Del Rey & Jack Antonoff here, not Lorde, so my my fave isn't on topic. How did even you come to that conclusion from my post? This is not blaming.

If you check my signature you can see that Lana is also my "fave" so i'm free to talk about her. BB200 or Metacritic numbers doesn't change the fact that Lana was artistically and musically way more versatile before him. Idc about charts and critics, not in the slightest.

Florence sticking around Jack after Dance Fever was not something I expected, to be honest, but I’m actually not mad. I enjoyed her output with him involved.

But it’s funny yet another project of his where Lorde is not involved lol So, who’s making the new powerpoint? We have enough evidence at this point

Lana has never been more diverse in her topics and sound like on NFR and Ocean Blvd. Maybe on LFL but that album sounded cheap, was badly mixed and lyrically at a low point in her career.

The amount of popularity and respect in and outside of the industry measures up more than the opinion of the last 50 homosexuals on a slowly dying music forum

I was talking about the music don't bring up the "topics" now lol. You know BTD / UV / HM trio is more musically diverse than anything she did the past 5 years. There's no way you're comparing NFR with Ocean Blvd and finding those two more diverse.

Does this basically mean you don't have your own opinions and they always go the same with the "industry"? I'm so sorry for you :toofunny3:

They are not. The same sound (the loon) runs through the entire (!!!) BTD and UV while great, is not more diverse in neither sound nor topics than Ocean Blvd.

I do have my opinion and guess what, sometimes I have to admit that my opinion on an album is the wrong take. It's not everybody else's fault that they can't hear what I hear, maybe my taste sometimes sucks. And sometimes, like in the case of Ocean Blvd, I am spot-on, according to the majority of the opinion aka the general consensus

Lana Del Rey before Jack Antonoff:

- Born To Die

- Paradise

- Ultraviolence

- Honeymoon

- Lust For Life

Lana Del Rey after Jack Antonoff:

- Norman ******* Rockwell! (this one gets a pass)

- Chemtrails Over The Country Club

- Blue Banisters

- Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd

Norman is her career's best but the one that changed industry is clearly Born To Die. That user must be on crack

The difference is Ocean Blvd isn’t a Jack only album. Drew, Zach, and Mike all had a significant role in the album. One of the songs that are blowing up the most (Let the light in) wasn’t touched by jack at all, so it’s silly to suggest Ocean’s success is because of jack.

you later go on to say that LFL is her weakest album lyrically, but I have to disagree when she released a song with the lyrics “lying on your chest, in my party dress, I’m a f’ing mess” in 2019. That was a cute groundbreaking lyric in 2012 but the dress/chest/mess lyric has been beat to death.

I don’t even hate jack, some of my all time favorite Lana songs are produced by him, but I don't want a mostly Jack only/NFR album ever again. I hate that NFR is what launched Lana into the critic’s good graces because she deserved it long before she made an album for the critics.

I like Lana and Jack together, but I don’t want her on his label, he already takes a good portion of profits from all songs they work on together, I don’t want him getting even more coins from her

The hypocrisy of ATRL gays hating on Jack for no factual reason, when he actually produced some of y'all fave albums, is just...

The thing is, his production had gotten stale over time. We are sick of him because all of his productions are starting to blend together and everything sounds samey & boring.

Good luck to him signing those artists he speaks of

it makes sense considering his wide reach in the industry. he should do something like AG Cook and create a collective instead like pc music :eli:

Midnights was an amazing project with HUGE success and Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd is one of the most acclaimed albums of the 2023, looks like people aren't tired of his godly productions after all :clap3:

Most people here aren't actually saying he never did anything good, just that his best work was last decade, plus part of 2020 for folklore.

Of course it depends on the artist, St Vincent did her best work pre Jack Antonoff.
