Let's keep it cute. Good for her. I'm not a hater. I loved ASIB but haven't found her great in other roles.
Happylittlepunk Posted January 24 Posted January 24 The skill set between beyonce and gaga will be noticeable in acting it will be like night and day. One is an acclaimed actress and the other did Austin powers gold member.
Digitalism Posted January 24 Posted January 24 One can only imagine the amount of razzies that campy mess would have

atemyheartinc Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I think Beyoncé decided to leave the movie industry since she couldn't top this Oscar-worthy performance in the cult classic Obsessed. And she was defintey right. Let's leave things as they are. 2

Campion last movie 'The Power of the Dog' was literally a Netflix feature with the same budget of ASIB 35-40M$ with A-list actors on it, not exactly a tiny indie movie. 1
Corso Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Beyonce can't act. I hate to say it but I don't think Gaga would do a movie with her as co-star. Gaga is an oscar nominated actress.

Have you seen it? It was a gritty, realistic, complex drama. Nothing like the campy fare Gaga favors. My argument was never about budget or that Campion can't afford her, it was that her style of moviemaking doesn't fit Gaga, so far at least. Gaga has been in a shlocky Ryan Murphy tv show about vampires, a showbiz musical that previously starred Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, a campy drama about Gucci with crazy wigs and crazier accents and now a comic book movie. That's not Campion territory. Edited January 24 by Jay07 1

This has nothing to do with a movie being tiny indie like you claimed and ASIB certainly wasn't camp if you want to get there. 1

But Gaga actually achieve something with it. Y'all are discrediting Gaga so much Edited January 24 by aesthetic bih

Netflix is still an indie studio, actually since it's not one of the majors. What do you mean so? My entire point is that Jane Campion doesn't make Gaga movies. I'm not sure what's so hard to understand.

Shimenawa Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Yes Ga Ga Yes Box office! But she needs to announce her next film project already, she's taking too long to release movies!

You clearly don't even know what you're talking about, Netflix is not an indie studio, be serious, at least do some Google searches before speak Your entire point doesn't make any sense , there's no such thing as 'Gaga movies' considering she only did two movies and they're completely different to each other with a third in arrive that is completely different as well.

Major Hollywood studios: Universal, Paramount, Disney, Warner and Sony. Everyone else, like A24 and Neon are an indie. Ironically, just a google away. Refer to this list: https://therainbowkid.com/independent-film-production-companies/ This is what happens when stan twitter pretends to be film twitter because their fave switched careers on them. I explained my post in quite a lot of detail. Campion: gritty, grounded dramas that explore the human condition. Gaga: campy melodramas about music, fashion and comic book heroes. I hope that makes it clear. Edited January 24 by Jay07 1
glacier76 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) Beyond questioning Gaga’s acting versatility, not sure why one would question Campion’s directorial range. If she is going to do another western, why do one exactly in the style of Power of the Dog? Edited January 24 by glacier76 1

It's like there's a whole new category for them. 1 1

Refer to this list: https://therainbowkid.com/independent-film-production-companies/ The source being a fansite for an unknown movie with no any relevance, author or source Netflix is a company (specifically a streaming platform) that distribute content in first by definition as everybody knows, it's a company that work with different studios and so involved in different projects and kind of movies, it's not a major studio conventionally but certainly can be comparable given how big it is currently, 'The Power of the Dog' specifically is not considered an indie movie, there are multiple studios behind it, as well as those Gal Gadot movies (just to make another example) that cost 150M$ are certainly not indie movies by definition, once again you're the one proving you don't know what you're talking about instead. 1
vale9001 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) Beyoncé created this brand where She Is like the creature villain in a gothic novel of the XIX century. You never see her and She doesn't speak. She appears only After the sunset in a thing called her concerts and the invocation Is made by people paying 3000 dollars each. I don't see her making a movie. It's like Michael Jackson making a movie. Edited January 24 by vale9001 1
