to refer to it as a scam is wildly unintelligent, as there were two very successful iterations last year and the year before. furthermore, it is indeed quite windy to the point where they had to temporarily stop the monorail until it cleared up.

It's not a scam but I don't know if they were "wildly successful". They were plagued by massive sound and technical issues throughout the festival last year, and there was a stampede in 2022  after fans thought there were gunshots. IIRC, it was also just incredibly hot and fans complained about the lack of amenities and the crazy long lines just to get things like water. And they keep on advertising artists there before even booking them.

 

The concept is great but they need to do better. Maybe a different location, different management and certainly it needs to be spread over multiple days.

the alleged 'massive' sound and technical issues last year were blown way out of proportion, as was what you refer to as a stampede the first year. the very first day in 2022 was overwhelmingly hot, and people were passing out (certainly not due to 'crazy long water lines,' however, I'm not sure who made that up), but they ironed out a number of kinks by the second day.

 

a different location would be nice, I agree with that part.

When it originally was supposed to start in 2020, they were going to have it in Los Angeles. When they brought it back in 2022, they moved it to Las Vegas. 2022 had 100 degree weather and now wind this year. They really should just move it back to Los Angeles.

I'd like to see it at Rose Bowl Stadium or SoFi Stadium and turned into a three day event. 1-3 stages only.
