Daily Mail Runs Disgusting Headline About Jeremy Allen White

This really pissed me off.

Imagine looking at someone trying to clean their life up—and doing a damn good job of it—and holding their abuse issues over their heads like this. This man has been working hard to stay sober. He’s doing it for himself and for his family. He’s been putting the time and effort, professionally and personally, and they’re reducing him down to a “bad boy former addict”

Instead of talking about him like that they could talk about how he has gotten sober and is the lead in acclaimed tv show he is winning awards for, or how he got Oscar buzz for a movie he was just in, or how he’s showing his kids that its possible to get yourself back and track and that past mistakes don’t define you forever.

Getting sober is one of the hardest things someone can do. Making the conscious choice every day to say no is a hill that so many people have found it impossible to climb, and for those that are on that climb this is such a slap in the face. It's a nasty and irresponsible framing of someone who is trying to not have their life defined by that darkness of their past, and yet that darkness is front and center.

**** all gossip media but EPSECIALLY **** the Daily Mail.

They're getting eaten up in the comments and rightfully so.

I mean... nothing they wrote was false. I'm kind of tired of the constant cheerleading around people getting sober. People who have to deal with addicts and their behavior in our lives rarely get celebrated in the way addicts do for getting clean.

God forbid anyone turns their life around and excels. :biblio: They sound bitter.

We should be celebrating sobriety because it is very difficult to maintain. It's a lifelong struggle. And this applies to EVERYONE, not just for celebrities and famous people. Major props to him for getting the help he needed and trying to stay on the right path for his career and his family.

I get it, the whole point of their article is basically "pretty privilege". Basically how being good looking has allowed him to get away with these things while someone way less attractive would constantly be vilified for them .

Yes, but we should celebrate people who never get addicted even more.

So you didn’t read it? They called him big nose, protruding eyes “alt” type man not conventionally attractive. They express shock that he’s seen such a following for his looks.

He’s still a chain smoker, so idk how “sober” he is.  I hope Rosalia is helping him quit bc she shouldn’t be around smoke that much for the sake of her voice.

This article is super unnecessary and rude, but it also doesn’t lie.

What a disgusting thing to say. This should lead to an outright ban

Just don’t read or click on it you’re doing what they want you to do

I thought objectifying him was the reason people were mad and then I read the rest and they just went in like that.  :hoetenks: So unnecessary.

and we love a bad boy.

Hollywood wonders why Gen Z has tuned them out and why no one cares about actors anymore… this is why. The way they hype up the most bland boring men is just… an atrocity. I’ve seen cuter guys at McDonalds tbh
