But if an artist announces a delay by even an hour or 2 there should be an option to leave and request a refund of some sort. If a product is not as advertised even time wise they should be eligible for their money back. But if you stay and consume the whole show to me you still got the product and accepted it as is by staying Basically this. It was embarrassing to see fans in the other thread saying “oh well you expect it”. Just because you’re used to getting ran over doesn’t mean everyone else is okay with it. The amount of planning and things people go through to get these tickets and show up should be respected. We’re all lucky to be so apart of the online music community and come across this kind of info but everyone’s not like that. I’ve never seen Madonna live, and would love to before she quits altogether.. but knowing what I know I wouldn’t waste time and energy trying to grab (expensive) tickets and make unnecessary, additional accommodations to cover this chance. Plus it’s really a drag to sit in arenas/stadiums waiting like that. Rauw Alejandro was like 90 minutes late when I saw him last year and it definitely killed all the pregame energy/excitement of the show regardless of how good it ended up being. 4 1
ZacXCX Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) The "audience should've known" mentality is wild to me. Could you imagine if I showed up to my job 2 hours late every day and told my colleagues "I do it all the time you should expect it lol"? I love Madge and have been a fan for 15+ years, but this is honestly what stops me from seeing her live (That and the tickets just being expensive as ****). Stop being inconsiderate. Show up to work. Suing is a bit dramatic, but if this is what tugs on her touring reputation a little, good. Edited January 18 by ZacXCX 3
jomarr Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Hope they win. Artists should be professional at the very least and respect their fans’ time. 3
Shinning Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Wait my concert was advertised for 8h30 and she came on at 10h30 too. Can I join in and get a bag?
popmusicisdead Posted January 18 Posted January 18 love Madge but it's what she deserves. i can't stand late people. 1
Oktober Knight Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Who goes to a concert and expects to not be tired the next day for work? Plan accordingly people, that's your own fault. 1 3 1 2
readytowind Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) First of all early birds need to stay home. It's all their fault. Job work nexy day blah blah. That's their excuse. She didn't beg them to come see her in spite of their work days. They stayed and saw it. It's all their responsibility. I cant at All those pressed trump supporters according to the Facebook. They don't even know how to plan their work properly. If they had to get up that early, why did they even join the celebration party on weekdays then??? Especially When she is not even supporting trump? They have no excuse. Their lawsuit fee is also their outcome. Also start time never said she would start that time. She has a supporting act. That necessarily means she would be on at 8 30? How naive Lmao. Edited January 18 by readytowind 3 3

I wonder if you would still say the same thing if you attended Madonna concert individually and she was 3 or 4 hours late to your show. Just because she is the queen of pop doesn’t mean it’s fine for her to be super late and people needs to just deal with it. Don’t make excuses for Madonna she is a massively wealthy woman who milking every cent outta you. Fans have the right too be upset and demand more professionalism from her.

But every night being late for 2+ hours... She's touring to take y'alls money while disrespecting you and y'all are like ''Yaaas queen, she ate that lateness. Mutha'' ok but its general knowledge that an artist is not going to hit the stage at the time listed on the ticket lol that's every artist? i find it incredibly hard to believe this was their very first concert that the artist didn't show up at the time on the ticket. Doesn't her opening DJ come on at 8:30 which is the advertised opening time? Correct. Who doesn`t like just can go away and get a refund.
GlamSlam Posted January 18 Posted January 18 It's a damn concert, not a signed contract. I could understand it if they left before she went on stage, but they didn't, they watched the entire show. Good luck getting a refund, b!tches 1

I read her brother Chris’s book a long time ago and in it he recounts the inner conflict she goes through prior to each individual long form concert performance. It’s your choice to criticise her, I simply choose not to. 1 1

And you are going to pay atention to a silly opinion? Do you know to nay artist going to tour there are insurances and they demand health exams? If ten artist isn`t ok theres no insurance and no tour. Remember MJ? 1 1

Honestly thank god we have curfews in the UK so if an artist is late they just get cut off. People shouldn't have to take a whole day off work to recover from a 2 hour concert 2 1

rta1913 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 While I also think this lawsuit is a bit dramatic and wild, I am not going to sit here and defend Madonna and her tardiness, because that is just simply unprofessional. **** happens, and sometimes shows can start late. It can happen to every artist. But this is a very common occurrence with her and that is unacceptable. And the whole "she's alwayssss lateeeee, you should prepareeee" mindset is so lame. You are making excuses for someone who clearly does not give a ****. And like some have said, imagine you showing up late cause she's always late and then for that show she decided to start early She puts on a great show but having to wait HOURS for her to come out definitely affects the whole experience.
Mr. Peanutbutter Posted January 19 Posted January 19 The "have you ever been to a concert before? people are always late" argument is so stupid. It should not be normal for artists to show up late and they should to be held accountable for that.
MatiRod Posted January 19 Posted January 19 It completely destroys the experience and makes you feel used when watching a concert becomes a multi-hour endurance test just for them to show up. 1

Im from Madeira island and went to Lisbon to see her. I planned everything not only because i live far but also because i know this could happen, even if it was in my island i would prepare myself, shows always end late and going to work next day is not good. Is all about planning and choosing if they want or not. Its one night in their lifes and they choose to complain.... 3 3
