The BAFTAs truly ended her reputation, huh.

Well she is a professionally trained singer, so I would be offended too lmao.

She gave us “Angela Bassett (Did The Thing)” so I would be offended too.

Whoever wrote that joke for her did her dirty :deadbanana2:

I wonder how Nicki would react to her rap skills getting questioned/joked about. :chick1:

A joke is one thing, but insulting and downplaying someone's talent in-front of millions is another.

If you take things that COMEDIANS say seriously about you, that's your problem. Learn to laugh at yourself and the world will be a better place.

What does her being non binary have anything to do with it

The jokes was famous singers and then actors who think they are singers. It was supposed to be a play on people mostly known as actors doing singing. Not that serious and ariana is pretty unlikable.

I still think she shouldn't have won the oscar

I don’t get why they chose Ariana for this joke, though. She won an Oscar for a musical and came up through Broadway :deadbanana2:

I guess because of the awkward hosting at the BAFTAs, but the joke fell flat.

She was on Broadway and won an Oscar for a musical so people know she does both. It wasn't funny and her inclusion made no sense however you slice it.

I support her reaction, it was disrespectful & frankly undermining  :biblio:

:rip: @ her Hamilton co-star being one of the presenters. Whoever wrote this joke didn't do their homework.

Yeah, true…and I agree that it was ballsy coming from someone not a comedian but like…it was a joke and even knows it’s not true, so she should have at least had a funny reaction to it

Kim, there’s people dying.

It was literally not funny and just…unecessary ☠️

Especially when all three of the people they listed are actual singers with bands and are professionally trained singers.

let's not tell people (especially women) how they should react to a frankly degrading "joke", shall we?

Oh please, keep the “women” bullshit out of this. It was a WOMAN who told the joke on another woman. If you thought that joke was “degrading”, it sounds like you need some dick in your life.

first of all, Bella is non-binary so NOT a woman. second of all, there was no joke. it was literally just them telling her she can't sing, which is factually untrue.

It was a JOKE. Not a funny one, but a JOKE. Get over it.

The dumb ass take of "it's a JOKE" to someone belittling you. :rip: If you need to put someone down to make a joke, you're not funny. I don't blame Bella, as they were just reading the unfunny "joke" written by a talentless writer.
