I can't believe it's been more than five months and not a single ****ing thing changed.

After watching a middle ground talk with Israelis and Palestinians I have come to the conclusion that the issue is much bigger than Jews vs. Arabs

Israeli’s are losing family members to terrorists and their government doesn’t care about their hostages, and Palestinian people are facing a mass genocide, losing their homes, lineage and lives.

The issue is not between the two sides but instead higher up.

Racial/religious divide is being used to distract from the larger issue at hand.

Which is about governments like the US and corporations exploiting the region for profit. The USA’s number one goal since the Bush administration has been to get oil, as they are not a country that naturally produces it

Since the Russia/Ukraine war, the West being cut off from oil there and fuel prices sky rocketing, they now have every interest to support the annexation of Gaza. Ask yourself why the US can easily go in to build some offshore crossing “to get aid in to Gaza” but can’t stop sending aid to Israel.

If we could all get on the same side it would make things much easier. We need to fight the same fight. Which is about dismantling the top.

Israeli’s need to wake up and break out of the Zionist propaganda. The speech by the Jewish director at the Oscars was a brilliant start.

Palestinians need to stay strong.

I don't mean to argue the fundamental point - I certainly agree that there is a greater undercurrent at play and that the American military-industrial complex's profit seeking has a great deal to do with it, but it has little to do with oil. I'm not sure what research you've done, but the US is quite literally the top producer of oil on the planet (producing over a million barrels per day more than the next top producers, Saudi Arabia and Russia, according to the international energy agency and the US energy information agency). The US produces about 80% of its consumed oil domestically, and of the remaining 8M BpD, 6M come from Canada and Mexico, with the 2M remaining imported barrels per day largely being heavier crude grades than what the US produces, which are more conducive to the refinement of jet fuels and harder petroleum products, and this primarily comes from Saudi Arabia and, on occasion, Venezuela. It may take the tapping of ANWR, but the only thing keeping the North American oil market from total self-sufficiency is that Saudi oil is cheaper and the infrastructure already exists. The price of oil products (gasoline, jet fuels, petroleum plastics, downstream chemicals etc.) are significantly lower across the US than in any other western country because of this, and the last true oil-war was that in Kuwait/Iraq in 1991, and even that seems to have been primarily driven by American desires to establish the rules of its new, post-Soviet global order (no country can invade a different country except for the US and its friends).

Now, I also doubt that oil (or really natural gas, since there hasn't been any commercially viable oil found in this region) is a motivating factor for Israel. For one, the overwhelming majority of the hydrocarbons in Gazan territory are off-shore, and Israel has near-complete territorial control of Gaza's EEZ - if they'd wanted to just start drilling, no one would've stopped them. As for the potential on-shore reserves in the Levant Basin, to the best of my knowledge there is zero on-shore drilling happening in territory currently held by Israel, and it doesn't hold up that Israel wouldn't try to drill within its own territory first. If there were any hydrocarbons on-shore in Gaza or the West Bank, they'd either also be under Israel's territory given the nature of the geography or they'd be so small as to not be commercially viable. Finally, it seems that Israel-Saudi Arabia joint talks are likely to resume in the near-future, and if they were to go well Israel would have its oil needs met in an instant, which would be a lower-cost way for Israel to get its oil in the first place than the invasion/genocide, if that truly was their desire here.

As I said, I certainly agree there are several factors below the surface that are motivating Israeli actions - but oil is probably not one of them.

He was insufferable throughout the entire 5 hour debate. What. An. Idiot.

The Zionist historian he was partnered with at one stage argued that international law was “irrelevant” & Norman had to point out how ridiculous a statement that was considering the recognition & creation of Israel is attributed to a decision made by international courts & they’re also wanting to argue that Hamas broke international law.

A complete **** show, Ryan is right, it only served to highlight Zionist depravity, hypocrisy & narrative twisting.

Palestinians who had Australian visas, had their visa cancelled mid-flight.

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/mar/16/palestinians-australian-visas-cancelled-mid-flight-collateral-damage?CMP=soc_568

Palestinians fleeing Gaza with valid Australian visas only for them to be cancelled mid-flight or at airports have been described as “collateral damage” for the federal government’s failures.

Quote

The Albanese government began suspending visas this week to investigate how some visa-holders were able to leave “without explanation”. Palestinians must be approved by both the Israeli and Egyptian authorities to leave Gaza through the Rafah border crossing.

Would this have happened if they were Jewish people trying to escape a massacre?

Would this happen to people from Ukraine or anywhere else in Europe?

Today marks 21 years since Rachel Corrie’s murder by Israel where she was bulldozed when trying to protect a family’s home from being destroyed. RIP angel :heart2:

The way he's quite literally recounting the murder of his parents by those savage monsters..How do you expect a child to live through this, grow up, and not hate Israel/America/Zionists?

OMG he is cute and beautiful. :hughard::hughard::hughard::hughard:

Poor child. I want to adopt him. He was wounded too and is still in danger for his life in Gaza. Can someone take him out of there?
