What promo are y’all hoping for? :skull: It’s not 2014. The best promo is playlisting on streaming services and consistent social media posts.

I never understood this take because in that case, why should actors and directors do promo tours if their film is advertised everywhere physically and digitally? They do it because it still garners attention to whatever project they’re promoting. It doesn’t matter how big or how small the cast is. They still do the campaign.

Artists are just lazy and aren’t thinking about the additional interest or sales they can gain from promoting. They just rely on their fanbase and play-listing. Whack.

I think people are just hoping she’d be open to some minimal promo since she did it for The Voice (Kelly Clarkson Show, Jimmy Fallon), Don’t Look Up, and REM Beauty.

She is giving more artist-produced content this time than with Positions, but a long-form interview with someone like Billboard or Vogue would be nice. I don't care about if it rises "yes, and?" on Spotify or not, I just wanna know more about why she made the album.

idgaf about chart performance I want to hear her talk about the process of making the album and hype the music up, the IG stories are nice and all that but they get boring really fast

Music and film and two different mediums and different mediums require different promotional tactics.

Artists aren’t thinking about additional sales because no one buys music anymore outside of fan bases. Everyone streams, and the best way to get more streams is better playlisting. She can do radio interviews and magazine interviews closer to the album’s release.

You can’t add a movie to a streaming playlist to make it more successful, that’s why actors still do gruelling promotional tours. Nobody watches award shows anymore, or linear TV, so there’s no point in putting so much time, effort and money into a live performance when you can use the budget for streaming and radio payola instead.

Ari could be travelling the world right now performing the song on every late night talk show, morning shows, awards shows with new outfits and choreo for each one like the old days - and fans would be happy - but it’s unlikely to help the song. It’s not lazy, it’s the streaming era.

Like, when was the last time a live performance helped a song rise in the charts? Adele at the Brits in 2011? :skull:

Levitating by Dua literally got a second wind after her Grammy performance and Streets by Doja went viral on TikTok cause she did those Hot Pink live performances for YouTube.

Hell, even SYTR rose significantly on the charts after Ariana and Abel performed it…

Performances help if they’re good since they end up going viral on social media.

also I think a lot of you are overestimating how much people actually care about the home wrecker allegations

Streams are sales. They are revenue. What makes you think I was specifically referring to physical sales...

Oh, you're so lost. Have you not realized we are in the streaming era of film and television? Netflix, Prime, Apple TV, Disney+, Hulu? Every single film that is released on these platforms is given a promotional campaign. Were you asleep when Don't Look Up was being released?

TV: Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon, Kelly Clarkson

Radio: The Zane Lowe Show, Zach Sang

are pretty much given around the album release. + we've got the Spotify thingy coming up

I think we're only days away from a big magazine cover & interview reveal aswell :duca:

The album is still a month away so she has time to ramp up promotion for the album campaign. The public have short attention spans anyway, it would be useless to start significant promotion now when the album isn't coming for another month. She will do more once it's closer to the release date (hopefully!).  We might start seeing some promo soon like print interviews and social media material like the Spotify Billions Club episode.  She will do the bigger stuff like Fallon, etc. closer to the release date.  It's also smart to wait until after the Grammys since those big albums/artists from the past year will have the spotlight from the post Grammy hype for the next week or so.

She really sitting here acting like her last album didn’t have the lowest first week sales of her career, and the lead single is not doing as it should.

Meanwhile other established artists are singing their unreleased second singles, announcing their next albums, and performing their lead singles at the GRAMMYs…

Looks like she’s wearing a different outfit on the other variants, thats good :priceless:

Based on the pic she just posted on her IG story, it does look like Track 10 could actually be called "we can't be friends" and there could be a feature.

pretty sure the collage where there’s 3 rows with 4 pictures each is the 3rd cover

Yeah, what she blurred out is the cover, next to it is the back cover, and the white background with the photos seems to be the gatefold for the vinyl version of Cover 3. Or at least a proposed draft of if.

look at the top paper with the maij vinyl cover for reference. It's the cover on the right, the back cover.on the left, and then above it would be the gatefold photo.

Now, the bottom paper is the same draft concept (but flipped) for what is cover 3. The cover, back cover, and proposed gatefold.

Meh, I don't love collages like that for album covers tbh... makes it look a little messy imo. So far I'm glad I ordered the exclusive cover #1
