It’s the only flat out dance moment along with WCBF 6 minutes ago, If U Seek Amy said: It is pretty different. Not so much that it is like out of this world. But definitely far more dancy and produced and poppy for lack of better words right now. 2 minutes ago, Communion said: It kind of sticks out a little. It fits in the overall shades of the album being 90s pop and synth-pop but it's the most "made for radio" sounding in terms of how it deviates the most from the work, obviously of course just from the snippet. I hate to make comparisons since I don't mean it in terms of sounds but it reminds me of how nothing else on Troye's album sounded like "Rush" yet "Rush" still sounded like it fit. Basically nothing else sounds like "Yes, And?" but it still sounds like it fits. It's just the house flavor of dance, where elsewhere she gives synth-pop or even (very light) disco. WCBF? also makes sense in that way as a single, showcasing the even more synth-pop moments, but it then also feels like single #3 should then also be one of the 90s pop&b songs to ensure all shades of the album get showcased to the album. Thanks ladies! This also gives me the hunch that WCBF? is the perfect second single choice. Based on the descriptions here as well, the album sounds more mellow, not sure if it's also pop-ish. This might be one of her magnum opus i'm not ready

rivingtonrebel Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Plus, I don't see any praise for DWBUA. Watch it be the most underrated song on the album. 1 1

suburbannature Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I’m excited based on the descriptions - 90s dreamy. didn’t love the lyricism in the vinyl snippet.
Communion Posted March 8 Posted March 8 12 minutes ago, TattooedDreams said: No it's really going to need to be a single with a high budget controversial video before we close the era idc whew. The chorus guys..... but we can't be friends is the right choice for album release. it's really a great closer I'm honestly shocked she's made a song like this (guitars??) but it feels like the kind of thing she could release to pop radio and it'd be a 10 week long #1 there. We'll be lucky to get a 3rd single but I'd love to see her expand the album campaign to: Yes, And? -> We Can't Be Friends -> Imperfect For You (throw it back to the old days of dual releases and service IFY to Pop/Hot AC & The Boy Is Mine to Rhythmic) -> Bye

SweetenerNostalgia Posted March 8 Posted March 8 the way in which since the release of yes and and throughout february the rollout of this era seemed like HELL and was terrible for us. But now with the release of the album she is giving us everything, it's incredible. i'm so gagged and happy
Communion Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) 3 minutes ago, suburbannature said: What was the source for these on wiki? It's pulled from Apple Music. The lyrics/music/production breakdown was done by fans and could possibly be wrong and we'll see if she shows splits credits like she did for Positions in the booklet, but we know from Illya she self-wrote YA?. It seems fans possibly just removed all the producers / instrumentalists from the full credits to get who would do lyrics (though Aaron Cheung is Aaron Paris and more-so a producer so who knows why they left him on - maybe those are the real splits). monologueNacafe Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Why is everyone talking about Saturn/Saturn Returns? SZA, Kacey Musgraves, and now Ari is something about to happen? anyway, these snippets are good
qurl Posted March 8 Posted March 8 i’m so excited to listen later. sweetener was my least fave, for instance, but even that album has lots of songs i still love and will put on repeat, and from the sounds of it this one is going to take me OUT. i have my preroll ready for ascension via her vocals. 1

Like a pop version of their iconic quiet storm sound 1
