I love Shakira... but she's absolutely insane for cancelling an entire tour just a few weeks before it starts.

Imagine the amount of people who already booked their flights/hotels and won't get that money back?

I don't understand why she couldn't just finish this arena leg, and then do a second USA leg in stadiums next summer? Most of these arenas were already sold out, and if the show got good reviews, she could've easily sold out stadiums next year due to good reviews and positive word of mouth.

What is her team doing? I just don't understand...

This is so right, also like... the tour was about to start in 2 weeks, her production did not just got massive in the last few days hence all tours are planned way in advance. She better hope people will want to attend her stadium show otherwise she'll have to cancel that and make zero from US.

Shakira treats her fans as if they can just casually rebook flights and hotels at weeks' notice, with complete disregard for money that they have lost because of her decision.

I just think this whole approach was wrong and that she should have kept the 16 dates and added new stadium dates later.

I agree, she was going to gross like 100M from those 17 arena dates, it's INSANE that she and her team are willingly choosing to lose that money. The decision is so stupid I can't even put it into words.

I just hope they're not making a mistake and those stadium dates sell well, because the Latino audience in the US is way different from the one in Latin America.

Some cities aren't cancelled, just postponed like Toronto, Detroit, Phoenix. She's still doing arenas in these :rip::dies:

That's why "the production of my show is now  much larger and unlike anything i've done before" part makes no sense, since some of the arenas are just postponed, so probaly she's doing arenas in those places :rip:

How much do you want to bet the production is going to end up super simple and she will have like only 2 backup dancers? :rip:

I think the stadium tour will smash. Especially since its coming after the LatAm leg which will likely make a lot of noise.

She kind of needs to prove she's just as big of a draw as Karol G and Bad Bunny in the US, since she's easily bigger elsewhere!

She's unambiguously bigger in the US than Karol G. Karol's only top 10 hit is TQG and she doesn't have a number one hit. Bad Bunny is probably the bigger act in the US than Shakira though on a commercial level (though she's probably more well known and famous).

I meant a bigger draw on touring. Shakira's never had a large scale tour in the US this side of Oral Fixation, which i totally believe she can have on an even bigger scale. Shakira reaches a lot more demographics than Karol or Bad Bunny do!

I think she pushed back this arena tour cause she's not ready. The tour was probably a mess. Half done and she was panicking :gaycat6: and she also realized with the latinoamerican sold out shows how her latinos audiences treat her like a goddess, so she will have those big stadiums for the major cities with tons of latinos.

This was the excuse :gaycat4::ryan3:

All the previously released singles from the album were massive. She only released two new singles that flopped when she released the album. Her album has over 4 billion streams.

The album was successful of course. One of the most successful of the year....crazily impressive. But there was potential for more
She ruined everything with the unorganized tracklist and the lack of new songs. 8 was not enough
If Beyonce,Taylor gave us long albums. We needed one for Shaki this time. Some english bops too.

I mean she is bigger than either of them on an international scale and the stats prove it

lmao it doesn't mean she should charge more than anyone in the us :skull:

She always had affordable tickets and it helped her a lot with touring in all these different countries, people could just buy tickets and enjoy the show. I know touring industry changed a lot after covid, but still :weeps:

She most definitely has a problem with underestimating her own demand. Those LatAm shows are a mess too. She could have booked residencies in pretty much every city she's playing, but she left no space for more than 2 dates pretty much anywhere

She was still charging a ridiculous amount.

So she should have no problem out grossing both with the same amount of shows then? :suburban:

It depends on how many concerts she does. I don't see her doing as many shows as Taylor because of her kids.

She will tour in more countries than either of them, not sure if she will outgross them.

I think that's because she doesn't want to tour lol. It is obvious her heart isn't in it for a decade or so.

Dancers just arrived for rehearsals, so basically it confirms they didn't have the show ready :cm:
