Lorelei Posted Wednesday at 09:43 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:43 PM Shakira is an arena act in Europe and she should be thankful she can still book arenas considering she tours barely every decade and presents the same rehashed show with a few alterations, not to mention her last minute cancelations. She had her chance to establish herself as a touring giant but she started slacking and eventually avoiding going on tour altogether, plus her stubborn focus on Spanish music doesn't exactly help a transition to stadiums worldwide. It's still very impressive she can do arenas solely on her name alone outside Latin America. She could do a few stadiums in Eastern Europe but she doesn't set her foot there anymore. 1

AvadaKedavra Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM (edited) Cant wait for this tour. The thing im excited the most is the dancers. When tours have so many dancers i think the live performances are more impactful Shakira is good enough on her own but sometimes her tours are too overly stripped Hope the setlist is longer than her past tours. If No or Dont Bother are performed im gonna be real happy. Crossing fingers* Im not attending the tour cause im poor and i dont like open stadium settings but love to watch the videos of the fans It would be amazing if she releases the rumoured EP or expanded edition of her album next year to give a bit of hype to this record. Here some Gifs i created to celebrate the tour cause im bored Theyre a mess sadly i was not able to create one for Shakira 2014-Self titled after trying so many times . All of them turned bad. I almost had a heart attack at 0:14 I love how the dancer is framing this as a "unique artistic expression". Shakira hates structure, but she would benefit from it. If anything, I wish Shakira would stop choreographing her stuff, she is so terribly lazy and weird when it comes to dancing, and not in a cool way. I think when she was in her 20s and 30s there was a charm to it, now it looks pretty jarring. I wish she would invest in a professional belly dancer choreographer and stun us with an original choreography. 1

She could do another stadium show in Turkey but wbk it's understandable if she doesn't book that rn. Zurich is inside Switzerland. I would say Switzerland is her 2nd most supportive European country after Spain. I don't see a problem doing it in Portugal (or maybe Belgium) too. She did stadium in the Netherlands before so I'm not sure about this round. UK: I agree with someone above, she probably does 2 O2 dates or one Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Everyone knows who Shakira is but the Brits don't listen to Spanish music. She doesn't really have a huge discography to support her in the country. It's almost the same case as other female stadium act (not Taylor). They can only do one show in Spain but multiple shows in the UK. Shakira is a Spanish speaking act so the situation is totally on the reverse way, multiple shows in Spain and one show in the UK. 1
prettyinpink940 Posted Thursday at 02:31 AM Posted Thursday at 02:31 AM So we already know she's using the same remix for Sessions 53 that she used for all promo performances.

I hate that. I want the original version so everyone in the house can bang on it but we'll see

She didn't sell out the O2 Arena in London on the El Dorado World Tour though I could see her sell it out this time. However stadiums - I don't think so. She has hits and people know who she is but she isn't as highly known as live act as much as Gaga, Beyoncé, P!nk or Taylor. Maybe a date at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London as it's a smaller stadium but even that would be a stretch in my opinion. The statistics show she is bigger than all of the artists you mentioned in Europe:

prettyinpink940 Posted Thursday at 10:25 AM Posted Thursday at 10:25 AM This entire tour is soooo messy. Why can't she just announce European dates already?!

I doubt that list has been updated in a long time since Taylor is nowhere to be found on it, same for Ariana and maybe others. I looked at the El Dorado Europe attendance and a lot of it is really good though I'd say stadiums would be a stretch - especially in the UK. I'd love for her to come to my country (Ireland) but a lot of artists tend to skip us for various reasons. Stadiums in Spain and maybe one or two other countries, and then arenas everywhere else seems logical in my opinion. 1

prettyinpink940 Posted Thursday at 01:14 PM Posted Thursday at 01:14 PM Isn't she also huge in France? I remember her doing something like six shows in Paris on the Sale el Sol Tour. So she could probably do a stadium show in Paris, too.

She did 3 shows in Paris on Sale el Sol Tour and 7 shows across France. She was so big at that time, Waka Waka spent 132 weeks on French chart. We want her to update certifications too, Waka Waka should be another million seller in France.

This list was created as of the end of 2022 (shortly after Midnights was released). Europe was never one of Taylor's stronger markets as she barely has any top 10 singles outside of Scandanavia, Ireland and the UK. She was never a strong album seller in Europe and was always much bigger in Asia and the anglosphere, though her popularity in Europe did soar between TTPD and the tour. Shakira has done stadiums in Greece, Romania and Croatia during the Oral Fixation tour back when touring in stadiums wasn't the norm. She is the top 10 for best selling female artists of all time in France and Germany and the third best sellijg female artist in Switzerland. Couldn't she theoretically do stadiums in those countries?

She can easily book a stadium show but she has always played several arena dates. No shade but Kylie Minogue has announced a stadium date in Lyon (+ Paris) and it's filling up pretty well, even though she's declined commercially here, so there's no doubt that Shakira can fill up fast. In Spain, she could do at least 5 stadiums shows with Barcelona and Madrid. The problem with her is that by touring every decade, it's complicated to know the demand for each continent (except LATAM). Edited Thursday at 05:13 PM by Bocanada
ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted Thursday at 07:03 PM ATRL Moderator Posted Thursday at 07:03 PM The touring industry has only grown since her last tour so I do think she'd be able to do a successful stadium tour in Europe. If she just focused on a few big cities (like maximum 10), she could easily sell out all dates imo.
