Hector Posted January 9 Posted January 9 The series is great and this has the potential to be both a critical & commercial success
Pop Art Posted January 9 Posted January 9 The best piece Star Wars media post Disney acquisition hitting the big screen? 1
Zaram Posted January 9 Posted January 9 But we want original stories, with completely new characters (and no sudden appearing of a known character at some scene) 1
Memoirs387 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I don’t know how successful this will be mainstream wise but I have faith it’ll be good and a decent hit so I consider this a win for us Star Wars fans. I’ll take anything in a positive direction
WildAmerican Posted January 9 Posted January 9 this was probs the best option for what they could've done, we'll be seated if they make it movie worthy and not just Disney+'d
Miles. Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Zzzzzzzz Mando S3 was one of the most pitiful, embarrassing, thoughtless pieces of cinema ever created. Would've been excited about this a year ago, but not anymore. And I'm sooo tired of seeing the same stories about the same pre-existing characters. Come up with something new for once. 1
The Next Day Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Since it's directed by Favreau, the title and the ending of S3 I guess this isn't the New Republic conclusion movie? Would be amazing if it's a different movie.
loveisdead9582 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 So this means that it’s not Filoni’s movie, which means that there’s still another Mando-verse movie to come (at least one more). This does probably mean that the show will be focusing on the Mandalorians on Mandalore and not Din Djarin. 5 minutes ago, The Next Day said: Since it's directed by Favreau, the title and the ending of S3 I guess this isn't the New Republic conclusion movie? We’ve had new characters in movies before and they weren’t always well received. The PT was largely nothing but “new characters”. With the exception of Yoda, we essentially had an entirely new Obi Wan/ Emperor and the rest were all brand new. The ST was built on the OT so yeah. Some of them were always going to trickle in. They are doing a High Republic movie (maybe series of movies) so that will be in an era that has never been explored before with no one that we currently know of being alive at that point.

PT was 20 years ago. Since Disney took over we had the ST with full of old characters as you already said Rogue One: Which had Tarkin, Leia and Darth Vader Solo: Which had well, self explaining Mandalorian: Started strong, but then decided to include Ahsoka and Luke Ahsoka: well Obi Wan: well Andor: based on Andor - known from a previous movie. and i think thats it. In other words 0 movies/series didn't need to rely on old characters. Thats why I'm so excited for the high republic movies. Though they will find one way or another to include R2D2 or so in it I guess
