It's crazy how actors still feel so much pressure to stay in the closet in a day and age where most people (at least in the West) have at least one openly gay acquaintance. It makes sense for sportsmen because of the amount of toxic masculinity surrounding men's sports but acting is one of the campest professions out there :dies:

Lbr, a lot of big franchises would prefer to cast closeted or straight actors.

He’s like, obviously gay, but it’s so obvious I go all the way around and feel that he’s not :rip:

It’s a shame actors feel pressured to stay closeted.

I think a lot of male actors feel like they won't get the same role opportunities if they are out even if they are accepted for being gay. It's why you see a lot of them come out after they have had big careers (Wishaw, Armitage ect).

TIL Richard Armitage is gay :gaycat6:

But yeah you're right. My point is more that it's weird how unaccepting an industry that's stacked full of LGBT people is towards openly gay actors.

I think it’s China that’s the problem. They blacklist movies with out actors. They even remove black actors from movie promo posters. :rip: The Middle East is a problem too but there aren’t enough of them to hold that much sway,
