burninredhot Posted January 12 Posted January 12 This song is surely a grower. We'll see many gays switching up on this thread in the next few days 3
Dr. Alexander Posted January 12 Posted January 12 This new management team is really getting her out there

If you think the message didn't hit the mark then you clearly believe people are entitled to publicly leave negative comments about a public figure's body as long it's "out of a place of concern". 1

Scandal described described it as R&B leaning so I was expecting 90s Pop/R&B which would still be different from her last 3 albums. I would be extremely shocked if most of the album is dance/house Hmmmmmmm, my source could be wrong but I do trust them! They were how I found out the lead was coming in January before she even started teasing anything. They also told me Max executive produced the entire record Edited January 12 by Blue Monday 1
Hooligan Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I don't particularly care for the song, but it is a bop [is this statement an oxymoron?].
Ivan_brit Posted January 12 Posted January 12 The video It made me like more the song, she looks gorgeous!
Chemist Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Apple Music (14x #1): #1 Belgium #1 Brazil #1 Netherlands #3 Ireland #4 United Kingdom #5 Switzerland #6 New Zealand #7 United States #8 Mexico #9 Spain #9 Turkey #12 Australia #12 Canada #12 Germany Oh **** this is smashing . This is going to have a very strong debut on Spotify tomorrow
Tylerbv Posted January 12 Posted January 12 this is surprisingly boring I think something with this title should’ve been more bombastic. It’s hard to take the sass seriously when she’s basically whispering. 1
unclefloprry Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Pitchfork really wanted to drag this but it looks like they didn't to avoid the bittered fans on social media lmao. Hope Ari still delivers a fun pop/dance album and dgaf about critics.

This is going to have a very strong debut on Spotify tomorrow It's the first day. Numbers for her would be like this if she released 3 minutes of silence. The same can be said for any of the big streaming girls with real fanbases The real test is what it's going to look like 48-72 hours from now Edited January 12 by Raspberries

PotatoPancake420 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 41 minutes ago, Blue Monday said: The album is apparently pop-centric; I know someone who works at a major publication who has heard it and told me about the lead who said that it's not at all like positions, sweetener or TUN; he said it has more in common with DW but that it was all dance bops I can see this being true, as well as what @Scandal said! An R&B heavy, dance-pop record. Very Janet & Madonna

Nashe Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Hmm, any ideas why she (and the dancers) turn to stone with the sunlight and crumble? Maybe as the different poses/sculptures are to represent some of her eras it's a way of saying that however the critics try to tear her down time & time again, her body of works will stay remain?

Houdini peaked at #138 on its first day for example
makeme Posted January 12 Posted January 12 My favorite part is the production. I like it more with each listen but it still hasn't clicked for me yet. I guess it's smart for her to talk about the controversies to get the song attention but its for sure a turn off for a casual listener who is aware of the situation.
