Christina Aguilera signs with United Talent Agency for worldwide representation

Christina Aguilera has signed with UTA for worldwide representation, the company tells Billboard.

The pop icon joins a roster that includes some of music’s biggest players and hitmakers, including Lil Wayne, Post Malone, Karol G, Jonas Brothers and Guns N’ Roses.

Aguilera continues to be represented by Roc Nation and imPRint.

Hopefully we get an era with the best rollout since Back To Basics. :clap3:

Tbh her current team ain’t doing so bad. She’s booked and busy. Her image is on point too. She just needs to deliver a stellar English record with a big lead (maybe a collab)

Janet did this around 2020. Don't expect much.

Record label puts out the album. ROC Nation does a lot of local shows and some international locations as well (usually ones kind of close to the USA). I’m assuming this one will kind of fill in the blanks if she’s planning world wide?

UTA is a talent agency. This will be most likely for acting, writing (television, movies, Broadway, etc).

I know she is spearheading a stage adaptation of BURLESQUE, so she probably wanted stronger representation in the area of writing/packaging/content creation/acting, should she choose to appear in the project a la Sara Bareilles and WAITRESS.

I honestly don't know if she wants that. I think she likes the smaller venues and more focused records because they give her an opportunity to stay with her family.

The only way she gets a major hit is if the person she collabs with does all the promo, lol. I want that solely because I want the younger Tiktok generation to discover her albums.

The shows for Manchester are all almost sold out 6 months in advance, I'm sure they're planning a Broadway or London run.

I know this is a good move, but I also wanna know what this means in the grand scheme of things.

Because, while the following is true...

...UTA is also integral in some of their roster's touring endeavors too. For instance, I know of acts whose sole relationship with them is to do with their live shows.

Xtina is a bit of a weird one. Because in her post-Irving Azoff years, she's most definitely been booked and busy. But it's kind of hard to pin down exactly who does what in her new setup and what the significance of some of the recent shifts have been.

Overall, though, as others have said, she needs to prioritize dropping an English project this year and go more all-out than she has in the last decade pushing it. I was encouraged by the promo and length of push for the Spanish project, but also extremely triggered at how she did more for that than she did for Liberation and Lotus. It's like WTF?!

Knowing that the Spanish project was a Sony Latin thing and that she's still signed to RCA - who basically have been giving her the "1.5 singles and an album release" deal for over a decade - doesn't fill me with optimism.

At the same time, being a stan these days is about being realistic. Sis isn't going to sell by the bucketload anyway. And looking at acts in a similar boat who jumped ship from the label, they ain't selling anything where they are now either (e.g. Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, John Legend).

So maybe the name of her game really ought to be: drop a fire new album. push it hard (within reason) and do herself a good service by finally shedding "lazy" tag, tour (which is pretty much every artist's end-game now anyway), and call it a well-executed era.

I'd love it if she was prepping an actual comeback, with a series of projects catapulted by an actual album release that's heavily promoted. For how still the current musical landscape is, she could absolutely comeback in an explosive fashion to have the attention be on her.

That’s do-able. Even The younger generation of stars recognize her impact and list her as inspo (Tate McRae for example). I’m sure any one of them would kill to do a duet with her and wouldn’t mind pushing the song HARD.
