i was gonna say it makes no sense since these songs have existed for years already but the streaming era does show listening habits so i guess its not that weird

It was bigger back then for sure, coz it had a normal lengthy single cycle (with radio support). The song just returned to the charts last week and it leaped to #1 this week thanks to high streaming numbers.
