LastKiss Posted January 14 Posted January 14 So basically is going to be Brody vs Timmy and Mikey vs Demi? The supporting ones are LOCKED. Zoe and Kieran winning for lead performances tho
hausofdave Posted January 14 Posted January 14 this year's director line-up is more mudded than usual; you got very audience-friendly Conclave directed by a German, American directors like Baker and Corbet who've been courting European art circles for several years now, and then Audiard with whatever Emilia Pérez is. If you're one of those voters who regularly helps boost an auteur to the fifth slot, you have a lot of choices from the four frontrunners this year. Who do the less adventurous "meat and potatoes" crowd vote for? Conclave? Anora? The Brutalist? Emilia Pérez? Or something far more basic?
DanyelP23 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I've called in sick from going to the office today to work from home instead.. I'm not about to experience the BAFTA nominations from a crowded ass office at lunch. So they better come with some MESSY nominations to make it worth it 1

DanyelP23 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Anora's only misses from the longlist were Mark E. for supporting actor and cinematography
fridayteenage Posted January 15 Posted January 15 only Anora and conclave made both director + casting, interesting. wicked and esp Emilia missing casting is a bit surprising.
hausofdave Posted January 15 Posted January 15 not a single drama GG nom made it for the women. 4 in Comedy/Musical
DanyelP23 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 1 minute ago, fridayteenage said: only Anora and conclave made both director + casting, interesting. wicked and esp Emilia missing casting is a bit surprising. Isn't Paz the only one from the cast that's actually Mexican? Karla is Spanish, Saldana is (according to google) Dominican and Puerto Rican, and Selena's half mexican american 1
surprisecentres Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Selena lowkey has a better chance at the Oscar nom than Ariana. Industry seems blown away by Emilia Perez, whereas Wicked is just getting noms because of its gross/hype. 7 1 1
