it's hilarious how SAINTgelina got literally ignored by the Critics awards until the Globes nomInations came out. now she's everywhere.

Joliepayola checks finally cleared over the weekend, we love to see it

The Globes still racist and criminal...

No Marianne Jean-Baptiste

No Danielle Deadwyler

No Clarence Maclin

Disappointing.

I really hope Angelina can snag the Drama win now and cement herself for the Oscar nom, tbh I can only accept Jean-Baptiste taking the Oscar over her. That performance is phenomenal, so I really hope Baptiste and Jolie get in and any of those two is fine by me

The GG have lost some of their fun and originality since they expanded their voting pool and eliminated the corrupted aspects of their voting system. They never meant to be that serious.

Most nominations were predictable, except for the surprising snub of Denis (especially since he was nominated for Part 1, which wasn't as impressive - yet still great - as Part 2). While Luca Guadagnino's absence is also notable, it's great to see "Challengers" getting recognition. It's one of the rare original dramas that succeeded at the box office, so awards should encourage studios to invest in $30-60M dramas rather than forcing filmmakers to work with micro-budgets when it's not an IP-based project.

I don't understand the criticism of Kate Winslet's nomination - "Lee" is actually a stronger film than "Blitz" which received way more buzz. She delivers an excellent performance and is well-respected in the industry. The fact that the film didn't gain traction in the US shouldn't disqualify it from consideration. Remember, Golden Globe voters are foreign correspondents, and "Lee" performed well in Europe, so this nomination isn't surprising.

the last time a film got BP, BD, & Screenplay GG noms that missed Picture was Ides of March, bodes well for The Substance

i'll always be traumatized by gone girl making director, screenplay, drama actress, and score, only to end up as a solo nominee.

other 21stc films to get Dir/wtg/acting at globes but only 0-1 of them at Oscars:

Past Lives

The Post

Nocturnal Animals

Ides of March

Match Point

(cold Mountain, closer, about schmidt - 2 acting noms)

Disney spent $2M on an awards campaign for Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool and he couldn't even secure a Best Actor nom at the ******* Globes. Embarrassed himself on Twitter for what?

I hope Jeremy Strong pulls through for the Oscar. I like Culkin but does his performance really deserving of a sweep? Be serious. Emilia Perez better enjoy the shine from the GG because it won't be doing numbers at the industry awards. And LOL at y'all thinking Wicked is actually happening until the big awards.

I love seeing folks online underestimating Conclave. That will be our Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor winner at the Oscars. Timothee nor Brody is beating Fiennes. Rossellini is the JLC of this year. A respected nepo, well liked, and talented (waaayyy more talented than Curtis btw).

It's safe to assume that Baker, Corbet and Audiard are locks and that leaves 2 open spots for Ross, Fargeat, Berger and Villeneuve. Chu is not happening.

I think Villeneuve is not happening either. He wasn't nominated in a much weaker year during the first part
