lgaga1fan Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Seeing Emilia Perez on Wednesday... I read so many mixed things so I'm kinda excited but also nervous. At least it certainly won't be boring
EnigmaticAndroid Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Blitz couldn't even make the UK critic's list of top films at the London Film Festival
EnigmaticAndroid Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Alright ladies, how we feeling about Wicked? I wrote it awf for ATL but Variety is pulling another September 5 so...

I'm not believing anything for ATL until SAG and BAFTA. I believe multiple below the line categories are possible, with a song nomination being doable. 1
Hector Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Saintgelina Her stoic, measured, and composed performance in Maria does merit the Oscar nomination but I need to see a true critics or guild sweep to believe a frontrunner status. 2

fridayteenage Posted October 31 Posted October 31 The only witch nominee afaik is miss Meryl streep 1
Donquizote Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Hype for Ronan is gone. I think she still has a chance to get nominated for Blitz.

EnigmaticAndroid Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Not an Oscars thing but felt relevant enough to post here. Looks... interesting for sure! Production design looks stunning at least.
Lawssance Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Poor Sersha two films, zero noms. Acclaimed in one but the film is considered a boring flop, in the other she's either called fine, miscast, or no mentions of her performance at all in a mid McQueen film. Maybe someday she and her fans will win...someday. 1 1
igninton Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Quote European Film Awards: 'Emilia Pérez', 'The Room Next Door' Lead Nominations French Oscar entry Emilia Pérez by Jacques Audiard and The Room Next Door by Pedro Almodovar lead the nominations making it into four categories each. Both films were nominated for best European film, director and screenplay as well as actress, for Karla Sofia Gascón in Emilia Pérez and Tilda Swinton in The Room Next Door. Other frontrunners included Germany's Oscar entry The Seed of the Sacred Fig by exiled Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof, which was nominated for best film, director and screenplay. https://deadline.com/2024/11/european-film-awards-nominations-37th-2024-1236167495/

X~MoviePoP Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Question, can short films get nominated for oscars in best pic and best actress, ect? Cause brittany snow in red, white and blue was amazing. Even though its a 23 minute short. It was nominated for best short film but she really should be nominated for best actress
KylieistBoi Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Now that Trump is elected president again. I fully expect Gascon to win Lead Actress. Emilia Perez might sweep everything too. Anything white and/or str8 will probably lose everything, poor The Brutalist I guess.
