Do they equal LOTR, it's so very different (but you didn't bring that comparison). MC Dune - 74, 79 LOTR - 92, 87, 94 1

I hope she can find a director and avenge Gloria Swanson while she is at it The character is supposed to be around 50 years old, it should absolutely not go to an actress over 65.

I know, which is why I said "with the society we live in" meaning today's society. While we still have our hang ups around age and aging, a 50 year old woman in 1950 is not the same to a 50 year old woman in 2025. Edited March 3 by KylieistBoi 1 1

Don't even get me started on the legendary Ian McKellen. The fact of the matter is he should've easily won BOTH of this nominations, and then he wasn't even nominated either for incredible performances in Richard III, Mr Holmes and All Is True. Like, this is one of the best actors of all time we are talking about. He was also fantastic in The Critic this past year but got zero notices. Maybe Soderbergh's 'The Christophers' will get him back in the conversation before it's too late and they bestow him with a semi-insulting, posthumous honorary Oscar Edited March 3 by Dark Miracles 1

Donquizote Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Joyce and Chris are the only pundits I love to watch. They're the only pundits who always predict Oscar based on logic, not what their hearts want. Perri, Scott, and Jeff don't make sense sometimes. 1

It's not the same dynamic. She's the female Peter O'Toole, not the female Mickey O'Rourke! I was not comparing Glenn to Mickey or Sylvester. I was referring to particular award seasons. Glenn's 2019 trajectory kinda reminded me of them. We all hoped and believed only to go to bed emotionally exhausted. 1
