It's exactly the type of movie the academy loves. Ten mins longer than killers of the flower moon? Gosh. It does sound baity. A sag nom for the Grammy winner? winners at 200+ mins: gone with the wind, #1 all-time adjusted Lawrence of arabia, #1 for 1962 ben-hur, #2 for the 1950s godfather ii, sequel to best picture winner return of the king, #1 for 2003 I don't think that many people will sit through it. Komet Posted September 2 Posted September 2 The Brutalist is 3h 35m long? BP cancelled. My cinema viewing also likely cancelled, I'd rather watch it at home in 2 parts. Bring back intermissions for fucks sake Conclave also looks good. 1 2

The movie was great, de Niro was such a c*nt in that film but my god did it dragged on though and I honestly would have dozed off if I watched it in the theaters in one go.

The screenings at Venice have them, so I believe it is encouraged and supported by the production. 1

Antisocialites Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) The Brutalist reactions are so promising. Brody, Pearce and Jones quickly joined the race! Edited September 2 by Antisocialites 1
Hector Posted September 2 Posted September 2 The length of the standing ovations are getting nuts but I hope this means this movie gets tons of love this upcoming awards season
Antisocialites Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) this season getting already annoying with Selena Gomez stans trying hard to make her happen in Supporting. look, she could very well happen but as of right now I find it hard to believe, especially when is Karla and Zoe the ones getting all the acclaim. Kylizzle Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Selena Gomez getting an Oscar nomination before JLo iktr.
ctlp27 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I don't know about Selena getting a nomination. I thought it would be easy with OMIB, but she really had to campaign hard to finally get one after 3 seasons, so I don't know how the pool for the other Academy would feel differently about her (considering her role is not huge in this one). Curious to finally read reviews of Queer. I love Luca and his cinema so I hope it's not a misfire.
