Green Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I hope we get at least a surprise win in Best Actor (like when Paul Giamatti won last year) 1

Critics Choice probably has a literal altar to Alexander Payne hidden away somewhere. They go so hard for his movies nearly every single time.

The odds of them going out of their way to deny an industry veteran of color sweeping so they can award a white popstar is... rather low. Wicked can get Ensemble as its sole win. ??? this is trans(racial)-phobia... 1
hausofdave Posted February 8 Posted February 8 the sort of familiar pattern of CC giving Best Editing to a film that wasn't even nominated continues. Challengers joins Birdman, 1917, West Side Story, etc in this list. 4

Angela was in a relatively weak film and was fighting Marvel bias. Zoe is in a film that has been dominating at the precursors so far, got 13 nominations, and up until a bit ago, was seen as a frontrunner to win Best Picture. 2. The Globe was Angela's first real win. Zoe won at Cannes, London, and did well with critics groups despite them rejecting her film. 3. Angela lost to JLC, an industry veteran who was riding the coattails of a film that swept the American guilds. Zoe would be losing to a popstar in her first major role. 3

Achilles. Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Kathy is probably a very strong contender for the Emmy if multiple groups (GG, CC) have gone for her over the reigning Emmy winner. It would be fun if she won. Her Emmy record would be: Guest in a Comedy Supporting in Limited Lead in Drama That'd be a win in all 3 acting categories (lead, supporting, guest) across all 3 mediums (drama, comedy, limited). 1

kimberly Posted February 8 Posted February 8 2 minutes ago, Green said: Is Emilia Perez locked for International Film at the Oscars? I don't think so. I'm Still Here is surging and getting some great press right now. featured in the New York Times and Time mag recently. CCA votes happened way before all of this. Hopefully most Oscar voters will watch I'm Still Here now that it's a BP nominee and vote accordingly, factoring in the KSG drama and backlash, as well.
