Ariana winning Critics Choice would definitely push the tide in her favor especially if she gets the chance at a speech that talks about how Wicked relates to some of the injustice going on today

I don't think it's a "bad" movie but it's certainly tone deaf and mediocre. not a great combo.

The only loss I think it might take due to the scandals is International Film, which would drop it down to just Song / Supporting Actress. I don't think it was competitive in the techs ever.

Isabella Rossellini needs to get in her Jamie Lee Curtis bag.

Say in an interview that your mother wished for you to be an Oscar winner in her deathbed or something :jonny6:

Maybe my distaste for it increased since I watched it, but yeah the movie was certainly tone deaf with a ridiculous storyline

the way Hollywood were raving about it, there was a big chance for it to win Best Picture. The movie wasn't affected by the backlash after it won GG, they over performed in nominations for every major award show

AACTA and CCA in 24 hours :duca:

Both are very important precursors. I wonder if Ari could win somewhere :duca:

At this stage of Ariana's acting career an Oscar nomination is a huge achievement in itself, but it would be nice to see her get a televised win for an acting award. I stil think cinching CC and SAG could give her the momentum she needs to take the Oscar :jonny5:

Karla deserved what she got for being and awful person but the fact that she has been shut out of the industry events like this while other MEN have done worse but they stay present and are even awarded is verytelling of how awful hollywood is.

Like the first trans woman to be nominated for BA is disposed like garbage but the cis white man can do whatever and they still suck their diiick

:toofunny3:

The critic choice awards are going to be a HOOT when EP wins and wins and wins and everyones is there like

Oh well, that's expected then. I wonder if they'll do a speech or something.

Chu & Berger are the only directors of best picture nominees this year going in without Oscar nominations, presumably Salles gets listed as an producer as well.  Because of Ross in screenplay and Villenuve in picture.
