Donquizote Posted June 18 Posted June 18 (edited) If Mikey won NY, she would be snubbed Cate and Lily were the only recent NY winners without snubbation at Oscar Edited June 18 by Donquizote
Donquizote Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Juliette Binoche and Ralph Finnes are starring in historical drama The Return Hoping for a repeat of The English Patient. It's time for Queen Binoche to get nominated for another Oscar
fridayteenage Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Well ny had four losing nominees in a row Then four snubbees in a row Perhaps they are amidst another four losing nominees in a row Edited June 21 by fridayteenage
Donquizote Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I think Ralph Finnes will have a banner year this year. Conclave and The Return look like to do very well in awards circuit. Won't be surprised if he finally snatched Oscar this year. He's overdue for one
Donquizote Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Glenn Close will have several good oscar bait movies coming out this year and next year. Summer Book, Knives Out 3, and that Lee Daniels' movies will make noise in during awards season

That would be the best combo scenario to win next year given BAFTA are happening during Oscars votation (with SAG once they will be closed), but yeah let's aim for a nomination first

Summer Book, Knives Out 3, and that Lee Daniels' movies will make noise in during awards season Quote An elderly woman and her six-year-old granddaughter Sophia spend a summer together on a tiny island in the Gulf of Finland exploring, talking about life, nature, everything but their feelings about Sophia's mother's death and their love for one another. She wants that Oscar bad.
Kylizzle Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I watched Kinds of Kindness. I thought it was excellent and the two leads deserve nominations (especially Jesse Plemmons) but I doubt they will get it.

Although I've warmed up to her, I'm pressed about him choosing Emi to be his muse. I want that adaption of My Year of Rest and Relaxation and I know Margot is only supposed to produce, but she should star. Would be perfect for her. Plot for this sounds interesting, though! 1
EnigmaticAndroid Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Looks like an interesting experiment. Basically a very classic story done with an incredibly modern and singular approach. If it gets good enough reviews and/or does well at the box office, this could be a legitimate contender.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Feeling traction for Kinds of Kindness in Screenplay and wherever Plemmons get put, and Plemmons could actually sneak a nom if they campaign well.
Liafen Posted June 29 Posted June 29 The way Miss Jié Mi Li just secured her Emmy win with her S03 appearance on The Bear (Nom/Award will go to her S02 performance.) The devil works hard but Donna Berzatto works harder! 2
