Smith and Streep should be out of the comparison since they were already legends when they got their respective nominations. 1
Dark Miracles Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I refuse to believe JLC is about to eek out an Oscar nom for Last Showgurl while the actually acclaimed lead performance by Anderson gets nothing. That should not be happening. It's happened before with movies like Georgia, but at least Mare Winningham also gave a very good performance 1
illia Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Not them using AI to manipulate Adrien Brody's Hungarian accent Spoiler Timothee Chalamet is smiling somewhere
McNulty Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Ik Timmy paid extra for this, between this and voters complaining about the runtime, they are so ******. PS Voting for the nomination has already been finished 3

Donquizote Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Tariq Khan and Jeff Sneider are predicting Demi's snub Love it when Tariq makes his NGNG prediction. Remember he said last year Robbie and Cooper would win SAG 1
monologueNacafe Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Saw The Brutalist last night. The first part was stronger to me…and the ending was kind of eh. I probably need to watch again but that movie is almost 4 hours long
Donquizote Posted January 20 Posted January 20 After watching The Last Showgirl, Ms Lee is getting nominated methinks. That's a good supporting performance But Pamela was a revelation Too bad she'll be snubbed

It's actually pretty well paced for such a long film. I found Opp hard to follow bc of the 473727 characters while brutalist zones in on a small cast 3

DanyelP23 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 In recent news of this AI thing Brody, Jones, Saldana, Gomez, and Gascon should all be disqualified from being nominated. JLC too because I just cannot stand her. This would make room for Qualleytea, Deadwyllegend, and maybe Grant to sneak in the acting categories
hausofdave Posted January 21 Posted January 21 In the last 5 years, three women have been nominated with just one precursor: Kathy Bates, Richard Jewell (GG) Jessie Buckley, The Lost Daughter (BAFTA) America Ferrera, Barbie (CC) If Barbaro gets nominated with just SAG, they'll have a full set between them 2
